Hi everyone. I'm retaking two pre-req's in the hopes to get close to a 4.0 before applying to the program. I have a BS, live in Nassau, and have most of my co-reqs. I have micro, but its a 3 credit so need to take that over. Do you know if they accpet regular 4 credit micro or does it have to be medical micro? I'll double check with them of course, just curious if you know.

Also, what is the Fall day and evening schedules like?

One more question, Fall 2013 they are beginning to require the TEAS, do you know how it will be scored?

Hi Melanie. I too will be applying for nassau next fall. I have called the nursing dept last week and they do not have much information regarding the TEAS exam yet. So I'm not sure how the test will be scored. For Fall 2013, I know for sure that they will only base the student's GPA on Eng 101, Psy 101, Stat, and AP 1 only. So if you do not have the right micro, I would still apply anyway because you can always take micro over the summer. And I believe they require Medical Micro (4 credit). The evening schedules start as early as 5:30pm mon-thurs and the day program starts as early as 7:00am mon-thurs. But like you said, your best bet is to go to one of the information sessions to get full details.

You can look around on this board theres many threads on the teas exam. In terms of admission, Nassau will probably do what most other schools do with the Teas which is admission would be based on 50% Gpa and 50% Teas score

I'm an NCC graduate and at the time they wanted medical microbiology. I don't know anything about the TEAs since I graduated a few years ago. Good luck!

I got in with a 3.8 Gpa in the 4 prereq's and a 67 on the TEAS. I'm not sure how they decided. Just glad that I was accepted. Have my interview May 20

Going for my interview tomorrow, how was yours today? Was it pretty much what's been posted here in the past, vocab test, write a few paragraphs, etc?
