Nassau Community College Nursing Fall 2018.

I can’t speak on the bsn program but you cannot take more than one nursing in one semester. The course load is a lot and you have to pass one course to move onto the next

does anyone know about the AS program and if its still available?

@domeniconI went to the office today and the lady told me as you take the courses you will complete your Associates and you take the NCLEX and continue after to the BSN. Everyone gets the associates no matter what.

ty......now the top is what i got too, but the last I spoke to some advisor they said ''you can no longer get AS''' so, from the looks of it, now that they have the BSN, she was wrong ,and, you can get AS and then go on for BSN part time...You can't get a job at a magnum status hospital, but, you can get a job at DSS/ even NUMC which is a non profit hospital takes 2 yr RNs, a lot of people are leaving desk jobs approving SSD etc b/c of the ACA their workload has tripled. There are a lot of jobs out there for RN ....... what i should have did is gotten the LPN then got RN on the side, idk. i got two labs and i'm taking the teas this summer and submitting for the spring. If NCC doesn't accept me does anyone know any two yr programs on the island? Or do i have to go to the city, ugh...

my cousins just got BSNs they didn'thave to take the TEAS.............ncc thinks they are some elite program now, were they difficult to talk to? I emailed the dept and they were nasty, the person i spoke to on the phone was nasty. A lot ofpeople in my lab r suggesting i go elswhere, time is of the essence b/c the market is going to b flooded, you will still get a job but, you might have to relocate. My prof said someone with the 2yr got a job in Maryland making 85k to start, thats like 100k on Long island

The green highlighted courses are online courses through the empire state college. The pharmacology course is part of the AS section. So you definitely be taking that as well. The courses I highlighted are the on campus nursing courses taken at NCC

O NO.........so to get the AS i need the pharmacology courses? That is new, that is not on the original AS curriculum, she highlighted 101,105,203,204 and that, as per admissions this past summer is all u need for an AS, to get the Emprire BSN u need all those other courses, R u sure, remember, I want just the AS, not bsn......

I'm not 100% sure. I will call the nursing department first thing tomorrow morning to confirm!
