Any one applying for Nursing at NCC for Fall 2018?

Has anyone made it into the program with a C+ in chemistry?

Hi,

NCC does not required chemistry.

Can you still get your AS in Nursing at NCC, or is it just BSN now? I spoke to an advisor and she said yes, but she did not seem too confident. I emailed the nursing program and they said refer to website, the website says it still offers the AS and now even BSN, i have not intention of working in a hospital, just want to work for DSS or a lawyer, any help would be great, the next info session is may 7th, i want to know asap so if i should start looking for other schools.

That must be NEW! NCC did not offer a BSN before. I'm assuming you get your ASN and then the BSN you get from SUNY EMPIRE STATE COLLEGE. I assuming they are working with Nassau to offer RN to BSN

they got approved for BSN, and one advisor says i can no longer get AS, then another said yes, the next info session is may 7th. Every advisor I speak to tells me something different

Wow. That is pretty interesting. I honestly did not see that coming. I will pass by the nursing department tomorrow and speak to someone and see if I can get a confirmation on some of that info. I know it can be frustrating hearing many different answers!

i appreciate that, i went there too and they are not that knowledgeable, one lady told me i had to take ALL pre nursing b4 taking TEAS, another lady said ' i wish they would stop telling students that'' i have all classes but ap II and Micro, i'm studying for the TEAS this summer and taking it and handing it in Oct, now i hear that if you hand it in early you go to the bottom of the pile? What is this? they should review ALL tests, i have all As and B+s in pre nursing and if i do good on the TEAS you mean to tell me that b/c someone applied after they get in and i don't even though there overall score is lower? idk, the more i talk to these advisors the more i read the site the more confused i get. I emaill NCC dept they said to refer to the NCC site, per site they still have the AS - i just as u can understand wanna know asap b/c the next info session is may 7th. If you can get a straight answer from someone it would be greatly appreciated, i've already been to that office a couple times and those ladies are not too nice

I honestly not to crazy about NCC. I have had my fair share of bad experiences and being screwed over by some of administration and professors. There are professors that are great and some not too great. But of course that can be anywhere. I say just stay persistent and keep digging for info. They are there do their job-.-! As a student we want answers and we ask questions to better inform ourselves. Try asking different people within the department. Go see the chairperson if needed. I have finished all my pre reqs, but I want to know what the deadline is for Fall and Spring. I wonder if they are only offering Fall entry now or is it still Fall and Spring? I will definitely keep you posted on any new info I get. I feel that info session is so far from now. They should do an info session every two weeks or so..

I truly hope that is not the case about the TEAS. They should keep an organized file in order of each TEAS exam that comes in.

i've asked multiple people, you can apply in October and March, of course they put it in the middle of the semester. One girl (real smart) in ap I told me not to bother w/NCC b/c they got their collective noses in the air, b/c 300 apply and only 70 are accepted, ya, why? B/c they only have 70 seats. I majored in Economics at Baruch and id Post Grad work at BU in CIS, do i really need an ''essential academic test''? I'ts BS $$, if the admin just took an Econ 101 class and learned about supply n demand they would increase the # of seats, they could easily used parts of the building AHS uses for Nur 101, and 105, the clinicals are from what i understand school and hospital. so idk it is so frustrating. Thing is, if i can't get the AS (I want to get into the workforce and u can get a job w/an AS, maybe not a Magnum Status hospital but for a lawyer/DSS/Olf folks home/rehabs urgent care etc), when i spoke to the person who said you can't get the AS she said b/c you can't get a job in hospital anymore, ***, i know people w 2 yr getting into NUMC WHICH is a non profit safety net hospital, and many get desk jobs. R u going to work at St Francis' er, no......u can still get a job, these people r dumb, they need to give advisors a Nursing 101 for advisment course.............Again, sorry to vent i appreciate any feedback

I don't understand why they do applications in the middle of the semester. That's a poor choice. Many programs a pretty competitive, but they should open up seat availability for sure! People can still get jobs with 2 yr degrees but I read a while back that anyone who has a 2 year degree will eventually have to go back to get their BSN. I'm not 100% sure of that, but I read the state wanted to make it mandatory by 2020

Hello! Can someone please help me calculate my points to apply for the NCC BSN program. I have all my pre requisite courses done. If I were to get in I would basically be taking the Associate’s courses such as NUR101, NUR105, NUR203, and NUR 204. Would I even be allowed take these 4 courses in one semester considering all my pre reqs are done!? Below I have included all my grades required towards the BSN! I'm not sure what classes they won't bother looking at. I just included all the courses that were listed. Thanks in advance for your help! Best of luck to all that have applied!
