Any one applying for Nursing at NCC for Fall 2018?

no way! tell me more! lol

I still need four classes of my prerequisites so i dont think I will get in this go around but when you all find out what you get in with please let me know!! Good luck to you all!! Maybe a miracle happens and i get in haha

I'm taking four classes in the summer so I can apply for the spring!

It might happen that the spring 2019 will be BSN program!

Wait can you explain more about this?? Sorry I don't receive notifications from this anymore

I am going to nursing info session tomorrow (last in the spring). There are a lot informations going around, people talk... I am going to ask.

Hi All! Figured I'd ask on this thread since it seems you have all been going through this process! I'm looking to apply to the NCC nursing program in the spring of 2019! I have done what seems like hours of research especially on this site of their points system for admissions, number of seats, etc. but I have been unable to find what the class schedule is like in terms of day vs evening. The only thing I did see was that if you begin classes in spring, the only option is day classes? Is this true? What is the schedule like for the nursing classes themselves. I would be taking the 1 nursing class per semester only, because I have all of the other classes already done(or will be done by the end of this summer) I work full time in an operating room as a surgical tech so I'm just curious as to what my options would be in terms of classes and my work schedule. Any input is appreciated! Congrats to all those starting this fall! :)

The spring program offers only "day" classes, the "fall" program offers: day and evening.

If anybody wants to make a generic rubric to help me calculate points and use an example cause this thread is soooo long that would be awesome in helping me see where I stand even though I plan to take 4 class in the summer

depending on your teas scores, you will get 5, 10, or 15 points for each section. There should be something on the nursing page for ncc showing what scores you need to get these points.

5 points for never being in a nursing program before

10 points for being a Nassau resident.

The rest of the points are from your prerequisites. Let's say you have an A in A&P 1, that's a 4 credit course so 4x4= 16 points. A "B" in a 3 credit course would be 3x3=9 points.

I hope that makes sense.

If you can link me to the post to what your referring to on nassau's Website that would be amazing considering I have no power in my house right now and already using a ton of data

4 credits 3 credits

A = 16 points A = 12 points

B+=14 points B+=10.5 points

B = 12 points B = 9 points

C+=11 points C+=8.25 points

C = 10 points C = 7.5 points

A = 4 points

B+=3.5 points

B = 3 points

C+= 2.75 points

C= 2.5 points

proficient score for a TEA's section = 5 points

good score for a TEAS's section = 10 points

excellent score for a TEA's section = 15 points

Math, Reading and Language are the only 3 scores that will count.

If you've never been in a nursing program you get 5 more points.

If you are a Nassau county resident you get 10 more points.

Hope that helps.

Sorry if there are any typos I'm on my phone and the layout is a bit wonky.

Am I the only person who still hasn't received anything in the mail?!
