Any one applying for Nursing at NCC for Fall 2018?
The email came from admissions and says, "The Office of Admissions has reviewed your application for the Fall 2018 semester and, unfortunately, you do not currently satisfy the entrance requirements for the program to which you have applied." It does not mention nursing, but I didn't apply to anything else, so I assume that this is a denial. Back to the drawing board for me, I guess.
I agree with Fee11934, call to double check. Looking at past forums, no one seemed to receive an answer (good or bad) so quickly. How many points to you have if you don't mind me asking?
Fingers crossed that it's an error on their part!
Did you apply through the office of admissions? Or did you hand in an application to the nursing department in LSB? I agree that in past forum no one has received an answer so soon! Just not sure if applying through the admissions office would make it any different. Best of luck when you call them. Keep us posted!! Positive thoughts your way!
I calculated my points as 116 (could be better, I know), GPA 3.01, TEAS were submitted (Advanced score, 87 math, 85 Reading, 75 English), and I am currently taking 2/3 prerequisites that I am missing. Hopefully, my chances will be better when I re-apply for the Spring. I previously graduated from Nassau, and applied to the nursing program before I re-entered as a non-matriculated student. So, I applied through admissions, not the nursing office.

Hi Terry, definitely call and find out why you received that email. From what I looked along only the TEAS is required as the pre requisites. The other general ed requirements and pre reqs don't have to all be done before admission to the program. Are your science classes more than 10 years old? That's really the other thing I could gather from the Ncc website as to why you would get that email.
Actually, I just spoke with someone, and was told that the email IS in fact a denial. I attended Molloy college for a year before transferring to Nassau, and have a Bachelors from Stony Brook. Most schools calculate your cumulative GPA from all schools attended, and I also spoke to an advisor who told me that this is the same for NCC (wrong). Which is why I calculated my GPA as a 3.01. My prerequisite GPA is a 3.0, but overall NCC GPA is a 2.94 (boooo!), which is the reason given by the admissions rep, that I didn't get in. As long as I get A's in the current classes I'm taking, that would put me where I need to be to re-apply for Spring. Good luck!!! to the rest of you. Those letters are coming soon.

I don't understand what the overall NCC GPA has to do with it. I've been to at least 3 information sessions and they say that they only calculate your GPA based on the courses completed that would be part of the nursing curriculum. Can you appeal the decision??

Are you missing requirements like the teas exam or pre requisites? That's the only thing I could think of?
