Looking for anyone who is applying to NCC for Spring / January start ( or anyone else on the road to applying) who wants others in the same situation to go through the process with.
hello everyone!ive been following this thread for a while now and finally decided it was time to join..
im in section B6 for nursing 101 this spring..i wasnt able to make it to the orientation, hopefully i didnt miss out on too much :/
just wanted to wish everyone good luck tomorrow on our first day of nursing school!
i still have yet to type up my autobiography and find a passport size photo but other than that im ready to go! hope to see some of you tomorrow morning, good luck :)
Hi i am on the end of page 1 for my autobiography. Hoping to be done soon.
Who is going to read the autobiography? Is it going to haunt me later on?
LOL @ JerrysGirl - I don't think the autobiography is going to be published or anything. :). Rule of thumb, don't put anything in writing that would hurt you, should you decide to run for president someday. (better safe than sorry, right?) Actually, as Kuklara said, it is just so the instructors can get to know us a a little bit, why we might want to be nurses.. etc.

thanks dogmom... i wrote why i want to be a nurse for another class so I think i can use some of that paper. I am hoping to make it to two pages.
JerrysGirl - Mine came out to 2 1/4 pages. As they said in the interview- write what you want the professor s to know about you. I had to throw in what I have been doing with myself all these years ( I am NOT in my 20's - LOL), what I am doing to support myself now,( kind of important that they know I am indepent and not living with anyone) and THEN I got to put in why I want to be a nurse. I don't believe they are grading these, but I am my own worst critic and did it 4 times!!
I am sure it will be fine regardless of what we say. I don't think they can toss us out of program for having a boring past. Right?? LOL
Good Luck Tomorrow!!
I just looked at the Spring 2011 class schedule for Nursing 101 and saw that not all classes are full. It really upsets me because i didn't get into the programm (having 4.0 with 21 credits) and they just left these seats open!? i am almost ready to go ask Nursing Department why they are doing it?
@ evap2010: What math test are you talking about? thx
tranzfikst,
I think the reason they left seats open is because it would've been too late to invite students into the program after Dec 17 orientation when they would've seen how many students decided not to attend the program. We were given a list of things we needed before the first day of classes and before clinicals start that were time sensitive like getting immunized, physicals, ordering books, uniforms, etc. There's more time during the summer to get the list completed thus having more time to invite more students.
We were given a take home math test and in class math test. I don't know how I did for the take home math test but the in class math test I got 3 wrong. We'll need to brush up our math skills for dosage calculation.
I hope you get in for the fall program. With a 4.0 with 21 credits you should be getting in.

Hi I am new to this forum. I have a question for kuklara whose posts I have been reading for a while. I was wondering how the first semester went? What were clinicals like, were you nervous with the patients, how were the Professors? Sorry for all the questions, but you are always so helpful, and I will be applying for the Fall 2011 program.
Hello to everyone. I was wondering if anyone can share their first semester experiences in ncc nursing program. What were the clinicals, patients like, professors? I am a new member, but I have enjoyed all of the wonderful posts on this forum, and I have learned so much from all of you. I will be applying in Fall 2011.:)
