Nashville State CC Nursing Program Fall 2012

U.S.A. Tennessee

just wanted to start a thread for those who just applied for the fall. last year's seemed successful.

i turned in my app back in february. i've heard that interview letters will go out this month. anybody else have any info? i work with one of the instructors for the program. this is her first time helping with the app process, so she was unsure of details.

thanks! best of luck to everyone!

mee9: I applied as prenursing - and then once I had finished most of my pre-regs and was in-class for my last pre-reg statistics... I applied for the 2 yr program. _ NSCC only accepts applications once a year. Some other colleges might do it twice a year, I know Aquinas does.

im graduating with a bachelors degree in december and I was thinking about pursuing my rn degree at nashville state. Do you think my financial aid will roll over since i will only be using my fall portion of my aid

i don't know. I called the dickson campus of NSCC today to talk about fin aid and my limit (in case I do not get into NSCC and need to go to another more expensive college) .....the ladies at the dickson campus are very helpful.. I would call them.

I assumed that everyone was getting a letter that said yes, no or wait-listed? I haven't rec'd a letter yet. I feel NSCC would let us know, at least. I know one person who did get a wait-listed letter and a few who have rec'd acceptance letters. --- :( Maybe our mailmen are just slow. I have a plan B also. I just feel that NSCC should let us know, either way.
Yea I was under that impression to so I don't understand why she wouldn't tell me (she was kinda rude by the way) and I would rather just know already if its a yes or a no! But regardless I'm goin to act as if its a no and plan accordingly for the fall. Let me know if/when you get a letter!

Oh and my mailman isn't slow :( I got a letter from nscc today, I almost passed out...then I opened it and its from financial aid *whomp whomp whomppppp* ughhh how annoying!!

Maybe my last post was lost.

Did anyone other than Ashley and I apply to multiple programs? I can't speak for her, but I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket. I needed to get in *somewhere* this fall.

I didnt apply anywhere else just NSCC

I didn't apply to anywhere else. My plan was to take chemistry in the fall and then apply to MTSU and TSU for next fall if I did not get into NSCC.

If you do the BSN at TSU they don't require chemistry. I applied for the ASN program. If I don't get in, I'm going to finish my last few BSN classes and apply to that program next year. If you do want to take Chem you can. TSU will allow to to apply to the ASN and BSN at the same time. Just make sure you take the A/P portion of the entrance exam. It's required for the BSN, but not the ASN. Good luck to you!

i applied to Aquinas and NSCC. I like both programs a lot. However, I had my fingers crossed to be accepted at NSCC because it is less expensive. I did get an acceptance letter from Aquinas and 2 scholarships from Aquinas but I will have to take out a student loan to afford them. I am going to do it,if needed, because I really want to be a nurse!

No letter today from NSCC. I am going to try to call them tomorrow, even though I know we are suppose to wait. I really need to make plans at this point. :)

I did not apply anywhere else because- like some others- I wanted to go somewhere I could afford. It's not looking good at this point however since it seems no one except those that got a letter last friday has received any news at all. I have a 4.0 gpa by the way, and even took chemistry, nutrition, and medical terminology to beef up my resume so to speak. I also have a bachelors in psych already. I guess I really must have stunk up that interview to be overlooked this way. Very disheartening.

I understand. There are other affordable options. Several of them. Some are quite the drive depending on where you live, so that could pose a problem. I felt like TSU was affordable. I also considered Columbia State and Motlow, but ultimately I wasn't willing to drive that far for school. I work at Vanderbilt and NS/TSU were the closest to work. I can work all night and zip to campus for class pretty quick.

I can't believe you haven't gotten a letter. WOW. It does sound like you're better suited for a BSN program though. Surely with a degree and those extra classes you more than meet the pre-req requirements. I hope you get a letter soon. :) When I attended the information meeting the director said they called people the first day of class because a few dropped out.

Best of luck to you!
