just wanted to start a thread for those who just applied for the fall. last year's seemed successful.
i turned in my app back in february. i've heard that interview letters will go out this month. anybody else have any info? i work with one of the instructors for the program. this is her first time helping with the app process, so she was unsure of details.
thanks! best of luck to everyone!
They are both VERY expensive. That's why I didn't apply to either of them. I have 4 small children, so I have to be careful with my spending. The community colleges and state universities are really all I can afford. Vanderbilt will pay a certain amount, but they recently changed the tuition benefit policy so they pay less now. I'd rather hold off and have them pay for the majority of my masters. It makes better sense that way.
Anyway, hopefully you'll get a letter this week! I'm waiting on my letter from TSU. Yesterday I checked the mail three times. :)
With Aquinas, you have to take the HESI and have ENG COMP II completed.
I am on a scholarship quest (Unles I hear from NSCC) So far, Aquinas has been very helpful on this matter. I want to be working as a RN in 2014. I feel that delaying my nursing education is not an option for me because I'm in my early 40s and for lots of other reasons too. .
Good luck to everyone. Good thoughts that more letters will be sent out. :)
Back from vaca & checked this first thing this morning! So sad to see some still haven't gotten letters. :-( but they do send "no" letters out too.. When I'm not sure though. Surprised they haven't yet so plans can be made. Columbia state does a Spring program also for those that wanted to apply sooner than next Fall.
When I applied I was told you had to be under the pre-nursing university parallel (which I was for all pre-reqs) then if accepted into the program they'd change your major to assoc of applied science in nursing. Most schools only take a Fall program. Columbia however does fall & spring but their acceptance is totally different than anyone elses & I personally disagree with it. But that's there at least. All 2 year schools are required to offer a nursing program now... But most are still in the process or getting their stuff done & lined up. Vol State is about 2 years out from my understanding.

Well, I have begun searching out other options. Aquinas takes applications for the Spring semester, and the Belmont program for the Accelerated BSN accepts applications from transfer students up to August. These schools are in another UNIVERSE when cost is considered- but I really need to get started so that all this time I've spent already hasn't been a waste. Thanks for your kind words.
