Hi, everyone seemed to be enjoying the name your hospital and salary thread from NY and I noticed others would like to participate and know about other states. So everyone join in. Name your hospital, starting rate, and how much experience you have and your specialty. :Melody:
Wow!!!These numbers are enlightening!
I've been a RN in OB for 10 years and make $21.60/hour. I currently work a Bailor where I work from 3pm-3am, every Friday and Saturday and get paid for 40 hours. I'm considered full time, so get full time benefits too.
I'm in a community hospital in northeast Indiana.
Maybe I should consider moving???...

Cost of living has to be considered, though.
I have been a nurse for a about 3 years. I live in a very reasonable area of Georgia, a starter home is about 120,000 and you can find a moderate sized home for 150-175 with some upgrades. I am currently making $24 plus a fw extra dollars for certifications etc, plus $5 we diff and 4.25 night diff.
come move to GA!!
I am really disappointed in the kpay for nurses in tghe northeast, mid west. Even in another town nearby I made 21 and change.
I hope this thread gives some the encouragement to ban together and fight for fair wages:twocents: .
you're not going to believe it...but...I started as a LPN in Michigan's Upper Peninsula at $9.50!!
I've been with this hospital for 12 years now, make $15.60 and will top out around $18 or so...
Couldn't ask for a better place to raise children...once they're gone, we'll move and make more money!
I'm a new grad who will be starting in a few weeks at a Chicago hospital. Base pay $23.50. Nights is $4.00, Weekends $4.00 (if you work night weekends that is a total of $8.00). Plus a total of $10K for tuition reimbursement if you stay for 2 years.
Wow, what hospital is this I live in the Chicagoland area as well?
Southern California, CT-ICU, as a new grad. starting at $27.79/hour working days...$3000 sign on bonus for 2 year commitment. (Working over time and weekends you could earn close to $40/hr) FYI....this is on the low end of wages for SoCal. Keep in mind that cost of living is higher here than most other places.
