Never heard of it....but my curiosity is piqued!

I sure wouldn't mind borrowing a rich uncle to pay for my education. :chuckle I have ONE rich uncle, but he seems to think I am doing fine on my own, or something....go figure! :rolleyes: :chuckle

Even if we have to have him over for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it would be better than student loans.

Well, geez...the uncles only loan you the money, huh? Oh, well...I can get that from the government.

I would be afraid to try something like that out. I may miss a payment someday and have a guy named Guido at my door with a baseball bat. :eek:

I suggest you go to the "News" section and read the New York Times article about it. This single sentence made up my mind for me: "In theory, students using MyRichUncle could fall victim to their own success - the more they earn, the more they will have to pay back."

yeah, I guess it does not make much sense, though it would be kind of cool to make less and not have to pay it all back - but I guess that would suck too, because I would be making less. hmmm ... just trying all different avenues to fill in the balance on my tuition bill. Maybe I should try a private loan, or a hospital scholarship.

I don't get it someone helps me with this isn't it just a private loan like sallie and other lenders you have to have good credit etc.

Or is there something I'm missing

I went to the news section and read the Times article. *It says 1000 people applied and 65 were given loans* so it is MHO that it is credit related. Also, it is somewhat like a scholarship deal, because they also take your GPA and test scores into consideration before granting you loan. They are not going to front money to someone who is not going to bring them a return.
