That her daughter earns $21 per hours as a CNA... Is that even possible? Good pay....
She said she isn't high skilled.. or does not required a high skilled to earn that much.

The highest wages I have ever heard of was $15 an hour for a CNA. That CNA wage was in Washington state. In Florida, I see wages for CNA's listed as $8.50-9.00 an hour.
I'm from Washington State and the local hospital pays up to $16 an hour (depending on experience), but most of the LTC facilities pay less than $11. One even pays people $9 an hour and our minimum wage is $8.67 (our minimum wage adjusts with the cost of living here).

Discouraging when CNAs earn more than licensed nurses.
It's discouraging when CNA's have so much responsibility & work extremely hard, but (in some places) earn minimum wage.
You'll earn more in Hospital because it requires at least 6 months to a year of experience in nursing home, etc.
I think here in mass, they pay up to $15-$18 at start in hospital. The teacher said they may hire 3 students in our class, but not as CNA because we need to take the exam. I will be a nursing assistant and home care aid. Not Certified, but I will get that ASAP. I wish I get hired there as a CNA... $21 an hour is very good! :|

Not always. I earned less at the hospital than I did in LTC, even though they required experience.
Yeah. Like 6 months to 1 year. I want to work in hospital because I am going for the BSN nursing program so I would like to learn all the equipment, work with patients, etc.
No, I was saying you don't always earn more at the hospital. I took a pay cut when I started there.
It's good for experience, though.

That's why I am going for it. For the experience. I honestly could careless about money until I start a family.
I am single and I live with my parents, so not a problem. :) I can't wait to start helping people, that's my dream. :)

There is an agency around here that pays CNAs $18. They want a year of experience though.
One of the hospice girls that come in told me that when they are sitting with a patient that is dying, they get paid $20.
I'm in Oklahoma.
