Hey Everyone,
I had my interview scheduled for last Monday. Sunday night at the hotel, I ordered room service. I got the worst case of food poisoning, I was wishing I was dead so it would all end by morning. Instead of an interview, I ended up in the ER. In any case, The kind folks at the Anesthesia school allowed me to come the next day and my interview turned out really well!
I just got accepted to a CRNA program in Florida. I start in Spring. I am very excited and nervous at the same time! I have been a nurse sine may of 2005. Anyone have any words of wisdome for me? How does this compare to undergrad ( i think i know I wont see the light of day but just in case im wrong and someone tells me I will be watching a lot of TV i'd welcome that LOL).

Hey, congratulations on getting accepted. :) I'm not in a CRNA program, but I did just start an NP program this fall. It's a lot of work, but I have a feeling it will all be worth it. :) Best wishes.

Hi,
I thought you have to have 2 yrs of experience in criticial care before you can get into a CRNA program and I see you've only been working since May of "05. Is this fir real? You didn't need the 2 yrs exp? I am really considering applying but was reluctant to leave my L&D posn to go to critical care for 2 yrs. Did you find many schools w/ a diff reqmnt? Please let me know. You can PM me if you'd like.
Thanks,
Nancy

Its only 1 year in critical care for most programs

It also depends on your GRE scores. I know from researching that NOT all programs say one year. I was told by Columbia that you can apply, but you may not get in, then you should work another year and reapply. Your competition are the RN's who have been working in critical care for years beyond. They are the ones chosen before you unless you have outstanding GRE scores and a very high and competitive cumulative GPA. This is what I've been told by different programs and also my friends who are CRNA's.
