I took the nclex RN today. Computer shut off at 75 questions. By about question 60 I knew I was doing well, and new the computer would shut off at 75 when i got 5 select all that applies in a row.
Got home, did the PVT and got the good pop up!
Looking back, was it hard?... No... Challenging... Yes. Personally I really feel like my school really prepared me well for nclex, we took a lot of hesi and CAT exams. All I have to say to those awaiting to take it is that try and stay calm, although it's easier said than done.
Also I swear by Kaplan. I really felt like its a good resource. That's all I really did, did all question trainers and 800 qbank. Averaged high 60s to low 70s
Good luck to everyone getting ready to take it :) hopefully the PVT still works!
What infection control pneumonic are you referring to? I would to see it!

If you took the Hurst review, and you know the material well, I am very confident that you will do just fine. There have been about 10 people in my class to take the NCLEX so far and the 9 that took Hurst all passed at 75. The other one took Kaplan and passed at 100 something questions. But I can definitely see where you're coming from being scared haha. I was terrified!! Mostly from reading on these boards about people failing. But you have to think NCSBN has like right at a 90% pass rate for first time test takers educated in the US. My advice is to get off of these forums about a week before you actually take the test, because even if you try to read positive posts you might come across a negative post and think "well that might happen to me" and lose all your confidence. I firmly beliieve that people that think positively tend to have positive outcomes. The NCLEX questions seemed very simple like the Hurst questions, especially the SATA. I looked at a friends QTrainer from Kaplan and they looked a lot more lenghty and complicated than the NCLEX questions I received. But if you talk to someone else, they may say that the Kaplan questions were more similar. I guess it all just depends on what questions the NCLEX decides to throw at you that day. Good Luck to you though!
I took the NCLEX today and was certain I failed it. From the very first question, it was so much harder than I expected. It all just felt so random and content heavy. I took Kaplan, and did well, and went into the exam nervous, but expecting to pass. Out of 75 questions, I was confident on maybe 10, and the rest were best guesses. Way harder than Kaplan questions (and I did close to 95% of Kaplan). I've done the Pearsonvue trick and the good pop-up keeps coming up, but now I feel like that is a poor reflection of the exam, rather than a favorable reflection of my expanse of knowledge. Truly, that exam is bizarre.

I agree 100%. I have always heard the NCLEX was no joke and from reading on here it made me very very nauseated to even think about taking it. I went to take it Monday and by the time I got to about question 30, I knew it was going to cut off at 75 also. It just didn't seem that hard to me, although I may have gotten lucky that it covered everything that I had actually studied. Half of my test was SATA, but even they didn't seem very hard. The correct choices were OBVIOUSLY correct and the incorrect were OBVIOUSLY incorrect. I took Hurst review and read over the infection control mneumonic. I cannot stress enough how much you need to read that infection control mneumonic. I also did PDA, although my scores weren't really all that good. I had a lot of PRIORITY questions also. With Hurst, we were given 6 q-review tests. I thought those tests were spot on with how the NCLEX was. I tried the pearson vue trick afterwards, and got the good pop up. I found out yesterday that I passed so now it's off to the "real world" for me.
