I received a phone call from the local VA (Long Beach) for an interview!
I've been trying desperately to get in because I know they do student loan repayment, and as I have so many student loans it would be a big relief.
My only concern, is that I currently work ICU, and this would be a Telemetry unit.
Would this be a big step back for me? Or because it's so hard to get into the VA, is it better to just get my foot in the door and then when I'm able to start trying to transfer to my usual unit?
I'd appreciate any insight, I know it's a good opportunity, but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot long term.
Congrats on the interview - as you will see from other threads some of us are in the process of getting hired (hopefully) - its a long process and everything has to be as they request (forms submitted in certain formats etc). Keep us posted on how things go!
