So I finally realized I don't hate nursing. I just hate my current position due to working agency. The agency showed me that not all hospitals are bad. I'm looking at going elsewhere closer to home and then "jumping" ship to a different career field if I do well on a civil service exam. It will be at least 1 year for me to go through the hiring process if I make it if not a year and six months. Those exams take forever. I'm interviewing for two RN spots.
Anyway, for my mental and physical health, I hope I get the new job. My current job is making me depressed. There are some changes made that make it better, but then they do stuff that makes me depressed or angry.

So true. It's a perennial theme in the job satisfaction literature.... Nurses love their work and all that it represents, but they hate their jobs/managers/organization.
Good news? Quitting my job for another job. I'm keeping the door open to become a cop down the line. The new job has 1:1 policies and self scheduling with weekends Saturday Sunday.

Good for you - I recently accepted a position that I knew was a mistake but ignored the flags and am going through what you were - depression/anxiety, etc. I decided to apply for other jobs more along the lines of what I want/need for work/life balance and interests. I am hoping I can hang on until something else opens up. It's a tough job market where I live but I'm still hopeful. Good luck.

What type of assignments do you get? Just hospital or home health too?
