My Current Blood Test -- Need Help

I got a message from my doctor today saying she wants to repeat a blood test Monday because my fibrinogen test came back "high unstable." Can someone please tell me what that means? For some reason, I find myself very concerned. I guess a "highly unstable" result of any blood test isn't exactly great news.

Oh Yeah, Ayemmeff, I'm going to try to be there! I'm ALREADY looking into it and planning and saving! Unfortunately, I'll be there the two weeks over Christmas and New Year's but I'm planning it now, believe it or not.

There is only one problem: Our federal and state (I live in CA) economy is in the loo right now, and my work is thinking of shutting down either one day a pay period or a half day twice a pay period (same amount of loss of salary) and there's no way I can come this December if that shutdown happens. (And I won't know about that until this July 1st -- the beginning of our fiscal year -- but as soon as I know that we're not going to shutdown, I'm going to book a flight and make hotel reservations). However, I would be able to come the following December (2004). I'd come the following summer (2004) but I hate heat and do much better in cold and snow. Hmmm, how is England in the summer?? I hear it's never that warm.

The thing with British weather is that it is full of surprises,it's not unheard of, to get into the 90's some Summers.Generally though,come prepared for all eventualities,ski boots and bikini,whenever you get here!

I have to sound off here, and agree. If you are going to die, there is no need to be in nursing school. Why suffer before your own death. Supposed to be enjoying life and not suffering in nursing school. I'm sorry :-(:kiss

I have a doc too whose answer to everything is come in for another blood test, etc....then they tack on the OV to every lab visit, etc. she also wants every screening test known to man and I just can't afford all this stuff anymore!! I too will have to find another who lets me make some decisions on my own care, and control the costs. My insurance has a high deductable and I'm just now back to work so money is tight.

I hope your problem is easily corrected or just an 'off' result...my sis and I both had critical high bili levels once..and our docs paniced to the tune of 1k of fees..and it was nothing. Hope yours is too. Best wishes!
