After a lot of research and reading alot of posts about the convenience of Excelsior I came to the conclusion that this is the route that I am going to take right after I graduate from my LPN program in two weeks. But I also have a question... If I started doing the exams around let's say Dec 20th, is it realistic for me to be done with the whole program by August, CPNE included?
At various times, there are holdups in getting a CPNE test date. You can do the rest of the program at your own pace, but when you submit for the CPNE, you are at the mercy of the test site situation to get a testing date when you want it.
How long is the average CPNE test date approval? Also is Excelsior WASC accredited?

4-6 months
No, Excelsior is Middle States Accredited. The nursing program is NLN/ACEN accredited and designated as a center of excellence.
I had all my general education and electives done before I started taking the nursing exams. I started taking two a month in September, and in January I applied for the CPNE. I took it the beginning of April and graduated in May.
So, I think if you had all the GE and electives done when you graduate in your LPN program, you can absolutely do it in less than a year. If you need some help getting electives, the EC exams for gerontology, intro to sociology and psychology of adulthood and aging are pretty easy. I also took the exams for microbiology, pathophysiology and maternal child health, but I had to study more for them. Good luck!
