My agency is Globehealth Resources-is it a good agency, please help?

I know of an agency which does this too. They operate in the US and rely on the hospital paying them to do their job of recruiting nurses abroad. They don't get anything from the nurse's salary nor do they even require a downpayment. All the nurses need to do is to fund for his/her own regular fees (such as NCLEX/CES/CGFNS/IELTS etc) and the agency will help them. :)
It's just unfortunate for some to encounter abusive agencies. Poor nursies.
Just be sure to read fine prints on your contracts BEFORE signing anything!

That is how that things should be done, not the agency getting paid by the facility as well as charging the nurse $9600 per year of the contract. and that is what $5 per hour comes out to if you do the math.

Shame on those agencies............ :madface: that take advantage of nurses, but all of you need to look at the fine pront of your contract and also check out what the cancellation clause is.

If you take the time to read here, most of the problems arise from agencies that operate offices in the Philippines, I suggest that you take the time to do some of your won research first as well as have an attorney review your contract, well worth the money. It will cost you much more to get out of it if you sign it and it is not what it is supposed to be. Agencies do not get any paperwork completed faster, and from what I have been hearing coming out of Manila lately, you will also be doing much more paperwork, as they are having you do things that are no longer required and have not been for some time.

Before signing, I knew that I'll pay a certain amount if I'll breach my contract. That's the reason why I'm sticking to it. I didn't need an attorney to review the contract because everything was disclosed.

The agency helped me with the logistics, it worked for me because I have a full time job then. Didn't have to bother calling or making follow-up with CGFNS, BON, USCIS, etc. My main point of contact was the agency.

Don't get me wrong that I may sound like pro-agency. Like I said it worked for me but maybe not to others.

Don't be influenced by others blatant anti-agency campaign. Do what suits and works best for you guys.

I am definitely not anti-agency, but I have seen the problems that have happened from there. If you found an agency that does what they should, then great. But be aware, that there are quite a few opeerating with very similar names to that one, and almost exactly the same, and there have been issues.

Uncle Sam cannot protect you if you sign the contr4act, you do it willingly, and will have to abide by the contract.

And where are you being placed at the $28 per hour? If in northern CA, that is about 1/2 of the going rate. Even low for LA area. If CA.

Sorry, but they take at least $5 US for every hour that you work for them.
And if you do the math, that comes to $9600 per year, that is insane.
They do not collect a fee, they take it right off of the top.
And there is no such thing as a free green card. It comes out of your pocket.

I would agree with you on that! There's no such thing as a free green card!!!I'm a lawful permanent resident here in the US but my wife however is not, she's also a nurse like me and when I asked for my employer to sponsor her they said that they'd be willing to but all the expenses would come out of my own pocket. If these companies are willing to do that for you, where do you think would they get the money to do so? Eventually they would take that out of your pocket in one way or the other. I think there are other companies out there who would not charge that much, 10 gran a year is way too much!!! That's exploitation already!

The bottom line is if you think an agency would be able to help you out, better make sure that everything is clear and in writing. Don't just rush into signing the contract, be sure to read the fine print also. Make sure the agency that your applying to is reputable. Remember, US laws are strict and protects its citizens (take note). I'm a permanent resident and I for a fact know that there are different benefits that apply to citizens which I do not have. What more for those only holding a working permit or visa? I'm not discouraging all those who want to seek an agency, just be careful and make sure you are not at a disadvantage.

I am not really interested in CA or the rates that they give. I will be assigned in one of the southern states where many of my relatives reside.

Hi. I also heard from a friend about Globehealth. They're not collecting any placement agency at all. My group and i will going to be interviewed next week by the employers of the hospital based in New Orleans. I hope everything will turn out well for all of us.

Sorry, but glad that they laughed at you. And now you can put on your thinking cap. There are ways to run a business and there are ways not to. Every single agency that is operating out of Manila charges these fees.

And depending on where you are being placed, $28 per hour is considered a verty low sum in terms of what you will be paying for housing and cost of living in the area. What is the rate that the nurses will be getting at the same facility, that are not going thru your wonderful agency? You are being paid by your agency in most cases, and they will be taking about $5 per hour for the work that they did for you, something that could have been done by you in the first place and without much time.

And where are you being placed? I highly recommend that you do you5r homework.

New Orleans right now has the highest crime rate in the US currently. That is the reason that the hospitals are going over to interview in the Philippines right now, they are unable to get enough Americans to go there to work.

Safety should be your primary concern, especially if you are bringing a family over with you. You are going to be coming over to another country to work, and you will be an outsider in the beginning. Sorry, but gunfire at night is not my idea of fun.

Please take the time to really do your homework, there are probably more than a thousand agencies in the US with this name or something very similar. And something similar, could be very costly for you.

There is no such thing as free green card, or free exams. You will be paying for it out of your pocket.

Agencies so need to make money, but there is not one reason that they need to take money from the facility, as well as the nurse. And that is what is happening where you are located.

And unfortunately, I get hundereds of e-mails per month from nurses from your country that have been taken advantage of by an agency operating out of there..............your choice as to what to do.
