My agency is Globehealth Resources-is it a good agency, please help?

If you will take the time to do some research here, you will find your answers.

If an agency has an office in the US, and anothre full service office in Manila, who do you think is paying for it? It will be coming from your paycheck to the tune of about $10,000 per year................

Please take the time to do your homework.

I can only comment on how my agency handled my application.

Basically, it's easier to expedite the tons of paper works with the help of an agency. Unless, you have the luxury of time to sort things out by yourself re: applications e.g. Visa Screen (through CGFNS), Board of Nursing, etc.

My agency has a Welcome Week where they help you to lodge your application for your SS no. They take you to car dealers. Help you with the necessary requirements such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc. Tour you around the area, open a bank acoount, help you with basic needs (shopping/groceries) among others.

I have a friend who was recruited directly by a well-known hospital. Unfortunately, he didn't get the treatment and convenience mentioned above.

The major drawback is the paycheck as what suzanne4 cited. But I guess this is how it works. It's a give and take situation. You scratch my back , I'll scratch yours.

hi, why not try other companies that hire nurses to US for free. my cousin knows 1. really great!!!!! the offer is good. even reimbursement of the CGFNS and TOEFL exams fees.

$10,000 per year taken from your paycheck is highway robbery. And it does not cost that to do your own work.

Doing your own work is an option. Yes, I agree, it won't probably cost that much if you choose the do-it-yourself thing.

To have or not to have an agency to expedite the process still boils down with individual circumstances and preferences.

Globehealth Resources is a legit agency operated by Fil-American businessmen who were also Nurses once upon a time. They're based in Texas and have been recruiting Nurses in the country intermittently.
Two of my Nurse cousins were deployed by Globehealth, one is now based in Springfield, Missouri and the other one in Texas. As far as i know, their local recruitment agency don't collect any fees here and even during the course of their employment in the States.
You guys seem to know a lot about Globehealth Resources. How many computers doest Globehealth Resources have?

Globehealth Resources is a legit agency operated by Fil-American businessmen who were also Nurses once upon a time.
As far as i know, their local recruitment agency don't collect any fees here and even during the course of their employment in the States.

operated by businessmen? so how do they make a profit and continue their operation if they do not collect any fees here and even during the course of their employment in the US? how can a business be viable without being profitable?

There are agencies out there that do not charge $10,000 per year of your salary, that is what I have major issues with, so do many others.

If you take the time to read here, most of the problems arise from agencies that operate offices in the Philippines, I suggest that you take the time to do some of your won research first as well as have an attorney review your contract, well worth the money. It will cost you much more to get out of it if you sign it and it is not what it is supposed to be. Agencies do not get any paperwork completed faster, and from what I have been hearing coming out of Manila lately, you will also be doing much more paperwork, as they are having you do things that are no longer required and have not been for some time.

Sorry, but they take at least $5 US for every hour that you work for them.

And if you do the math, that comes to $9600 per year, that is insane.

They do not collect a fee, they take it right off of the top.

And there is no such thing as a free green card. It comes out of your pocket.

no, i dont work for them. an uncle is a good friend of the company's ceo. as i mentioned in my previous post, which has since been deleted (that was my 1st post, btw:o ) my younger cousins applied with them but they didnt mention about their salaries being deducted $5/hour of their service. i have to check this.

from what i know, for every nurse deployed, the company is being paid a certain service fee by the hospital where the nurse is assigned to.

I know of an agency which does this too. They operate in the US and rely on the hospital paying them to do their job of recruiting nurses abroad. They don't get anything from the nurse's salary nor do they even require a downpayment. All the nurses need to do is to fund for his/her own regular fees (such as NCLEX/CES/CGFNS/IELTS etc) and the agency will help them. :)

It's just unfortunate for some to encounter abusive agencies. Poor nursies.

Just be sure to read fine prints on your contracts BEFORE signing anything!
