Muscle lab practical

Published

I have a muscle lab practical coming up and I need to know the origin and insertion and action. Does anyone have suggestions on how you can learn these? We have a list of 83 muscles. You guys have been so supportive and a big help with previous exams, I thought I might asks for your ideas. Thank you.

Well the muscular practical went well. I don't know my score yet but I feel confident I did well. All my studying paid off. Thanks all for your help.

Good to hear. My 2nd practical is coming up, more on reflexes, sensory, PNS, CNS nervous system type things

Thank you Shawn 91111. Our next lecture example is on the central nervous system, sensory and reflexes and the muscle lecture part (now that we have done the muscle practical). We just dissected or examined a sheep brain, we did not have to cut into it too much, just name the structures. Then we have a quiz on brain structure. I think the PNS is going to be on the following test. Its a little odd that she is dividing the PNS and CNS but that is how she is doing it. Well good luck and I'll post any study suggestions I have.

When I studied muscles in A&P, my friend and I actually drew the muscles on our bodies (the one's we could without being indecent!!) with markers. That really helped me be able to visualize the shortening and lengthening of the muscle fibers and what action would happen when those muscles contracted. We were also allowed to stand quietly and move our bodies during the exam to help with figuring out movements. A lot of people took advantage of that. I can only imagine what that looked like for someone walking by the room, though!

If you do this- MAKE SURE YOU WASH ALL OF THE DRAWN MUSCLES OFF BEFORE THE EXAM!!!!
