MUSC Spring 2020 ABSN

Published

The application for MUSC's Spring 2020 ABSN program doesn't open until July 1st, but I am putting some feelers out there to see who is applying and hoping to start the thread for this semesters admissions process.

Let me know! Happy applying ya'll!

I was considering Georgia Southern, but don’t want to take Pathology while working. I took 8 prereqs to cover most school’s requirements, but not patho. I just finished chem w lab while working full time and it was too much. I may apply to George Washington and ECU. The GW program is pricey, so I may nix it.

Are you all applying to others Schools?

Same! I haven’t taken Patho either. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in another field so I’m thinking of applying to Augusta University’s ELMSN program. So we will see.

Northeastern U ABSN is Charlotte has spots open for Fall 2019. They are strict with the min undergrad gpa of 3.0. Just spoke to the program director.

MUSC is on my list too! The schools I'm applying to are those that do not have prerequisite courses that expire, because I received my first degree in 2011. My undergrad GPA was a 3.82 and I will finish Statistics by August and Micro by December. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone written their diversity statement yet?

Not yet! I jotted down some thoughts. 100 words means get to the poking, but be clear and concise.

100 words is super hard. It’s only a few sentences.

Hello everyone! I am currently enrolled in a nursing program and i’m not happy with the education i’m receiving so i’m applying to MUSC! Does anyone know when we should hear back about acceptance?

Thank your for the detailed and helpful info. My prerequisite/science gpa is high. My undergrad gpa is on the edge. I’ll apply and hope for an acceptance!

My undergrad is on the edge too but my prerequisite/ science gpa is high as well! i’m glad to see someone else that is the same as me!

Hi Everyone!

I am applying for priority admission as well. My cumulative GPA is a 4.0 and prerequisite GPA is a 4.0. I am very nervous applying as I am out of state and am currently enrolled in my last 15 credits of prerequisite coursework but my science classes are all done. I also volunteer at MUSC and have clinical hours from an allied health program I completed. Is anyone else applying with not all of their classes finished? I was also wondering if we hear back before September 30th or if its always that late? I am just applying to MUSC because I'm currently attending the College of Charleston. I am wishing everyone good luck!!

Hey everyone!

I finished my application recently and am super nervous! My undergrad GPA is decent around a 3.6 but my pre-req GPA isn't the highest. I'm also out of state so that makes me even more nervous. Does anyone know how many they accepted last year vs how many applied?

I hope we hear back sooner than later!

I was told that on average 300-400 apply each semester and 92 total applicants get into the program. However, Shelly Drake, one of the admissions ladies told me that this is the first year that they are on nursing cas because before they just had their own private application so they are expecting a larger influx of applicants so she told me it will be tougher for us out of staters due to a larger application pool. I am out of state as well so I am really nervous!
