Just putting feelers out there to see if anyone else on here is applying...
There was a mandatory evacuation of Charleston County. Nothing could have happened since Tuesday when the evacuation was called and the school closed until further notice... and depending on what happens with the storm now - nothing will happen for a few more days. The rain hasn't started yet (I'm on the same latitude as Charleston - just a bit more inland). We have gusts, but no steady wind or rain yet. It is really going to depend on the severity of flooding that Charleston experiences as to when they can actually go back. The storm should be gone by Monday - but I don't know when they will re-open roads to allow residents to return, then the water has to be gone for students and faculty to safely return. Its put a time damper on for sure.
Initially I was expecting to hear by the end of next week - now I'm thinking it will be an additional week if there was minimal rain/storm surge in Charleston and everyone is allowed back in on Monday. I would think a week minimum after they are allowed to return. Remember mail service is suspended there as well, so it will take time to finish processing all of the regular candidates and I felt like they looked at all the regular candidates as well before finalizing priority candidates. Just my personal thoughts though.
"While students are in the program, faculty and students are not to engage on any mutual social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Students can use Yammer, the MUSC approved social media vehicle for internal group communications, to create class groups." (page 25)

I just don't want to get thrown out before I've even been pinned in!!

Hi, I think Priority applicants can expect to hear back in writing by September 30th. Regular applicants soon after that. Assuming nothing gets delayed with the hurricane of course!
