Just putting feelers out there to see if anyone else on here is applying...

I want to know everything. Lol What is the work load like? Is it comparable to a working a 40 hour week?

Lecture classes?

2. Do we have to wear a particular brand of white scrubs?

3. Do you have a job? Is working a possibility or is it just too much? I mean 10-15 hours a week and not like 40....

I'll answer any questions you have, from my perspective of course. I wouldn't say its comparable to a 40 hr work week id say maybe 24-32hr. but remember a lot of the program is online so that doesn't include studying and completeting online work. Everyones schedule is slightly different, just fo a feel of schedule My schedule right now is Monday, I'm in lecture 8-4. Off Tuesdays, Labs on Wednesday (4hrs), Clinical on Thursdays (6am-2p) and Off Fridays. So in total I'm actually at school for about 20hrs a week. However, there is a good amount of online work, about 4-6hrs a week. I study for anywhere between 4-8hrs a week. It does definietly start to add up. First Semester you take 6 classes (Foundations, Health Assessesment, Patho-pharmacology (online), Professional Nursing and two IP classes [which are pretty much online they meet about 4 times each a semester, the IP classes just focus on teamwork in the health care profession so it's a relatively easy class.

Sorry if that was alot of information, just trying to give you an outline of what the program is like at least for first semester.

I personally love my experience thus far at MUSC, one thing I feel like its crucial to comment about is how authentic and caring the faculty, staff and professors are. They are incredibly approachable and truly want your success. They do everything in their power to help you succedd. I am one of the few in my class that doesn't have a bachelors degree, I just took the prerequesites needed, maintained a high GPA, and spent a lot of time volunteering.

1. There's no required dress code for lectures. I would always keep in mind, how you want to represent yourself considering you are walking across a hospital campus/seeing future employers. I believe the saying they gave us was if you wouldnt wear it in front of your grandma, don't wear it to lecture. That being said, you definietly don't need to dress business casual for lectures, I see people wearing anything from athletic wear to dresses in lecture. Whatever your comfortable in :)

2. There is no particular brand of scrubs.

3. Personally, I don't have an actual job but there are people that do. I know a few girls that serve tables on weekends. I babysit every weekend, which seems to be common. I think 10-15 is managable, I would first get into the groove and figure out your schedule, and when your gonna fit in studying/ rest breaks/ self-care. THEN, add working around that if there's room, because you need that time for those breaks to be successful in the program.

Bsndec19 - how about brands of scrubs that are cute, functional, dont feel like sandpaper and arent see through in white :) Does this exist? Whats your solution?? And how many pairs do we need starting when? Im the worlds hardest fit !!!

I wear greys anatomy brand. There super comfortable and not as see through as other brands I have seen. I have two pairs!
