I also received an email saying I was an alternate for an interview. Fingers crossed something opens up for us !

What time did everyone get their alternate email?

I got the invite for an interview at 9:30 this morning

Nice! Is anyone who was invited to interview not going to interview due to acceptance at other schools?

Sorry for the all the comments…Does anyone have any insight on the interview alternate? Trying to stay positive but it’s definitely a tough pill to swallow

So last year I was an alternate for an interview and I didn’t find out that I definitively didn’t get an interview until all the interviews were over. So I’m not sure how soon you’d know if you did end up getting an interview. But, the people who are offered an interview this year have to accept their interview spot by the end of the day on November 29th, so I don’t think you’d hear anything before then. Hope that helps

Thank you for the great information! Again, hate to ask all the questions - did you ever reach out while you were on alternate list? Do you think that would be beneficial?

I didn’t reach out last year. I don’t think it would be worth it to reach out until after the 29th of November. Maybe if you don’t hear anything by the end of that week, you could reach out, but I feel like that would just give you closure earlier if the answer is no. I don’t think there would be any way to speed up the process or find out where you stand in the list of alternate interviewers unfortunately

So I got a definite no interview.... I won't complete my BSN until Spring, a lot of my sciences are 10+ years old and my GRE was mediocre. I have 5+ years of high level CVI experience so I think they definitely look hard at grades and GRE. I hope this makes y'all feel a little better about alternate interviews, I'm sure your stats are better than mine. This was my first round of applying, and definitely a disappointment, but hopefully we will all make it through this process!

Just asking...do they ever look at professional organizations or nursing activities post BSN? Like community service, hospital and nursing organization activities? Teaching a clinical rotation to SNs or being a content speaker at a community college? Anything that is a contribution to current nursing students or fosters the future leaders of the  profession?

I think those are definitely a plus, but current science grades (past 5 years), high GRE, and rec's are the main things they're looking for

For those that received an interview -how are they doing it this year? Do you select a day and time slot? How many time slots do they have per day? And is it something where you wait all day with a group and then interview?
