Does anyone know if this is a good program? I'm thinking about applying for it for Fall '08, but I don't know anyone who has gone to the school. I would love to know anything from quality of faculty to design of the program to how difficult it is to get accepted. Do most people who start the program graduate? Does anyone work during the program? Really anything would be very appreciated!

I called and they said they were admitting 60 people

I just found out I did not get in. I am pretty disappointed. I am thinking about applying again for next semester but I am not sure if my odds would be any better. Good luck to everyone.

Sorry to hear that:crying2: Although I know that doens't help much.

Did you ask what your weak points were? Or did you find out in the mail?

I called and asked...they said that the number of people who applied worked against me. She said my gpa just was just below the lowest gpa they accepted. She also said they had never had this many applicants before.

How was your pre-req GPA?

And I'd believe it about the number of applicants...over 400 for 60 spots???:uhoh3:

my cum. gpa was a 3.15 and my pre-req gpa was a 3.5

I am on the wait list... I am so thankful to still have the hope of an opportunity to start there. I am a little disappointed though that I have to continue to wait, but I know that God has a plan for me! I will be completing my prereqs this summer in anticipation of good news.

Does anyone know how the wait list works?

How did you all find out? (letter, phone call, email)??

I haven't heard anything. Called and was told notifications wouldn't be made for another week?!

I got a letter in the mail, it was a thin envelope :( I am local so maybe I got mine sooner than others?

Specializes in PICU.

They use the waitlist to fill any spots that become opened, either from people deciding to go to another school, not being able to get all of the required documentation in (vaccines, drug screen, etc.) or people who can't go for any other reason. Since a lot of people apply to multiple schools, they may not all choose MUSC, so if you're high up on the waitlist you still have a decent chance of getting in before they start. Good luck!

Our class had a guy get accepted from the alternate list on the day class began. I was an alternate and I got in so keep your chin up!

Someone told me to go ahead and go to the admissions office and get my immunization form, confirm that they rcieved my fasfa, and let them know that I am still wanting to go. They told me to go ahead and send my transcripts after I am finished with my classes this semester. How long did yall have to wait. They told me at MUSC you have 3 weeks to submit your deposit, so maybe I could hear in a month. I really really want to go to MUSC and hope that a spot opens up for me!
