MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

That sounds awesome! I don't know if everyone is up to pursue that avenue so that is definitely diverse!

I really don't know what they're looking for. I've seen people get in from all different spectrums. When I was selected as an alternate I still had work in progress and little hospital experience. When I was rejected I had completed my coursework with A's in all prereq work and was a current employee of MUSC working in their Chest Pain Center ER. Now I work for the Hollings Cancer Center in research and 3 girls that previously worked here started the ABSN program this past August. So hopefully working in research makes it happen for me. But it is very difficult to see a consistency in their selection process.

Wow, I guess it just depends on who else applies each time. What a difference though. Did you get alternate in spring and rejected in fall?

HAS ANYONE's mail come yet?

I applied for Fall 2013 selected as an alternate and then applied Fall 2014 rejected. Then I bumped into the chair of admissions on the elevator in my building at work and he told me to apply for Spring because the odds are a lot better!

Moca, I think that's very nice!!

I talked about how some of the things I've been through in life has given me a passion for people from all walks of life. I also thought about working for the prison system, my friend is a nurse at J Reuben!

Small world. I have to request medical records from J Reuben all the time. They probably dread seeing my name on the fax cover sheets lol.

Hi everyone! My name is Andrew and I've recently moved here to charleston, from Philadelphia two months ago. I live on the corner of ashley and south battery and looking for some friends who share common interests.

I applied to the bsn program (spring 2015), and wanted to post my stats for comparison.

4.0 science. 3.7 cumGPA. 3.9 prereq

Ive also have been following this thread for a couple of months :)

Hopefully I'll get my letter today since I live 5 blocks from MUSC!
