MUSC ABSN Spring 2014

I wanted to start a fresh thread for all of us who are applying to MUSC ABSN program in the spring. Applications just became available, I am planning to apply for the priority admission.

@MUSC2015: Thank you. I'll see if I can track down that thread. I talked to the advisor who's been helping during the application process and suggested sending in my updated transcripts since I have completed one of the pre-reqs that I lacked. Told me it 'might' help if alternates are chosen. We'll see.

Hi all! Just called Mardi Long and found out I was accepted! One of my co-workers was accepted too. We were both non-science undergrads who work in retail and volunteer at MUSC... Good grades and good recs made all the difference for us :)

So much GOOOOD news for everyone! Congrats! I think I am too nervous too call. Did they say when they are mailing the letters? I am a non-traditional and gave up a fire career to chase a dream...fingers crossed.

I would assume they are mailing out decisions this week since they are divulging them over the phone. I got mine exactly 2 days after they mailed them out (I'm local) so you should get mail soon I would think!

They were working on putting them together when I called yesterday, so I bet we will get them by the end of this week or early next if you are local. I was tired of being scared to go home every day, calling was ripping off the bandaid and getting it over with!!

Maci, do you know how much it is to take the BLS at the community center? I'm looking on their website and don't see anything. Seems like most classes elsewhere are $110.

It's $65 for a 2 year cert; BLS for Healthcare Providers course.

You have to email the lady listed and sign up, and she told me I could pay at the class.

There is a link on the musc con site about the CPR stuff, along with a temporary form for certification after we complete the course until we receive the actual certificate.
