I wanted to start a fresh thread for all of us who are applying to MUSC ABSN program in the spring. Applications just became available, I am planning to apply for the priority admission.

I live in AZ, but will be living in Mt. Pleasant as well. I will go to orientation on 11/8... hopefully we can meet and have a great start in our journey as future nurses!

Hey also go online to the student Health services page and print off the packet for nursing immunizations- the paperwork is due nov 13-15 and there's a lot that goes in to it. CPR is also required.. MUSC2015, I'm doing mine at noon on dec 11, if you're interested in doing it together

Thanks for the tip! I haven't gotten my mail yet, so I'm sure there's a lot I don't know! Where are you going to do it? I'm going to see if it's offered through the hospital (I work in the Children's Hospital right now) but definitely am interested in doing it together. My name is Emily, by the way :) Is anyone planning to try to work during school?

I'm doing it at the MUSC community training center. There wasn't anything in the acceptance packet about the immunizations; I got an email from the health center about two weeks after I got my acceptance leading me to those forms. It's possible they will include that info in your packet since the deadline is a lot closer now.

I'm going down there next Thursday to get their titer "deal" .. All 5 for $100. I have all of my immunizations except varicella (had chicken pox as a kid) and the hep B one they require you to re-do it or get a titer for it (I wonder why that is?)

Hi Marci and Emily! You girls are helping us so much with all the shared information, thanks! My name is Rosario. I took the cpr here in Phoenix, and I'm only missing the last Hep B. All of that was a requirement to apply for ASU's program, in which I was already admitted. I applied to MUSC because my husband got relocated to Charleston. We went there for the first time last July, we liked Mt. Pleasant the most and as of today our move is official!

I just got accepted myself! Call this morning...it took me 2 hours for someone to actually answer. I think I was calling 5 different numbers. I will be at the orientation on the 8th. I live in Bluffton, SC and graduated from College of Charleston in 2004. Can't wait to meet everyone!

I think it's time for someone to do a Facebook group so we can all keep the conversation going and talk in more detail that would be creepy on a forum. Marci- you want to get the ball rolling? :) I am so excited now that we have all started talking! As if I didn't potentially squeal and cry on the phone yesterday.... Congratulations to you guys Rosario and flipflop!

I thought I would be good to go with vaccines, but it looks like I will have to do a titer as well. Let me know when you are down here, I can probably meet you for coffee or something if you have time!! (insert need for a facebook here- I can't send PMs since I haven't posted enough yet).
