MUSC ABSN Fall 2016

Published

I know it's early, but just wanted to start a thread for us prospective MUSC Nursing School applicants. I applied for priority admission, based on my overall GPA:3.81, prereq GPA:3.71 with 3 courses in progress (Microbio, Microbio Lab, and Stats) expect no less a than a "B" in any of them - finals next week. I'm out of state, but considered in-state due to Veteran's exemption. Also, I'm a Hispanic male, with 13 years hospital/prehospital experience (Flight Paramedic). Hopefully I will hear about priority soon, but if not then I guess I'll be in the regular admissions pool. I'll keep you posted. Please post stats with comments.

My daughter's letter arrived today!! She got in! (I'm a nurse, but happened across this thread while waiting on her letter.)

That's awesome. Good to know letters are in the mail.

Did anyone else receive a letter? I'm out-of-state (TX) so I am sure mine will take longer to reach me.

I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm out of state too (Indiana). I'm dying to know

I just got my letter!!!

Congrats c_lock!

Has anyone out of state called? I've seen on past message boards they would give the decision via phone once letters were mailed out. I am anxiously awaiting my letter!!!

I heard from another applicant that starting today you can call and they will tell you whether or not you're in. Good luck!

I'll wait for the letter until Friday, then I'll give them a call.

For people that have gotten their letter, how long did they give you to make a decision? What date is the matriculation fee due?

I got mine today! I wonder why they told us they weren't making decisions until the 15th.

You have 3 weeks from the date of the letter to mail in your deposit. Mine is dated March 1st. There's a $485 fee for all students and another $1k for out-of-state. All non-refundable.

You can go ahead and call, Lemonsas. I'm an out-of-state, applied for regular admission, and the letter is dated the 1st.

I didn't know they were sending out decisions this early. Super nice surprise.
