MURRAY STATE CRNA INFO

Published

Hi everyone! I am considering applying to Murray State's CRNA program next year. I understand that the program is online for the first year and then clinicals/on-campus visits begin the second year. Someone told me that campus visits are few and far between. Can anyone clarify this? I only ask because I am unable to move my family from our current location in Louisville, so if I have to go to campus 3 times a week or more then its not even worth applying for. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I got my acceptance as well. I’m  fortunate to have been accepted to another program as well, so now I have a difficult decisions to make. Congrats on everyone who got accepted and best of luck to those who did not. Keep your head up and keep your eye on the prize!

Hi everyone! Congrats on all who got in. I am hoping to apply this year and was wondering what you thought about the program so far, and also what the typical stats were for people who were interviewed/accepted? GPA years of experience and such. Thanks!

You got in just recently? Wooow congratulations

Hi, hopefully, I can find someone on here that went to MSU- I just found out I got accepted and am being asked what my primary site preference would be- Lexington or Madisonville. Is there anyone that can offer some insight on the key differences?  Thanks!!

Hi, I am a current student at the Madisonville campus, and my preceptor had originally told me to pick this site because Lexington student use to come here for classes every Thursday but as of now, they stopped coming. I'm not sure if that will resume again with your cohort. Lexington students have a more considerable clinical schedule than us, we are in the OR for about 12 hrs, but they have a set time that they have to leave clinicals regardless. I get jealous of that sometimes, however we have good clinical experience but less time for other things.

Hope this can help. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! Thank you for responding!

Do you feel like the clinical experience, cases are the same at both or does one site get to see or do more than the other?

I am not sure about seeing more, but I almost positive we are doing more because of all the hours we are there for.

Also with the change in administration and all the other changes taking place such as 9 students in each site, as compared to 12 at Madisonville and 6 at Lexington,  they might even more changes happening by the time you guys finally come to campus.
