MTSU Spring 2014 Hopefuls

Well the deadline for applications was yesterday!! I am so nervous. I applied with a previous Bachelor's degree, 3.355 GPA, 93.43% on the HESI, A in A&P I, B in A&P II, and Micro in progress. So afraid I won't get in. I am sure we are all in that boat because it is drilled into us that it is so competitive. Anybody know when we can expect to start getting called for interviews? Just wanted to start this thread for any other Spring 2014 applicants to MTSU that may want to chat.

When I interviews there were 2 guys ahead of me. One wore a full suit and tie, the other wore a pair of dark jeans and a white button up untucked...I wouldn't recommend jeans though lol. They asked how my friends would describe me, what was a weakness I was working on, what do you think being a nurse means and why should they choose you over someone else. I have newsome for micro. He apparently is a lot harder but I'm actually learning stuff so I'm ok with it! Good luck on your interview!

No you go through the same application process as everyone else. If/when you get in then you get to skip the 2nd semester in the program. So basically you go through 1st sem then skip straight to the 3rd sem

so instead of graduating in 2 years, you graduate in 1 1/2?

No. MTSU's nursing program is 5 semesters or 2 1/2 years. As an LPN you will only do 4 semesters or 2 years.

I know most programs are 2 years, but not MTSU's.

I had my interview yesterday afternoon and I think it went well. Fingers crossed now everybody!! At the end they asked if I had any questions so I asked when we would find out if we got in. They couldn't give me a specific date because a committee has to meet first and put everyone in order 1-64 and alternates. They said we should for sure know before Thanksgiving though, but probably sooner. Just thought I would let everyone know. I forgot to ask how they would contact us, but I have heard the past couple semesters they did it by e-mail. Good luck once again everyone. The true wait has started. :up:

I was told we'd know as early as next week but more than likely the week of the 4th. The last interviews are Monday. 10 had been declared ineligible and 2 still hadn't called to schedule interview that last time I talked to Kim. She said we'd be notified by email and they try to let us know before early registration starts for those of us who get priority registration. I hadn't heard anything about a committee. Kim said that she's got all the names and scores in a spread sheet and it populates them in order of highest scores so it shouldn't take them long to let us know after Monday! Here's hoping we got in! And for those of us who end up on the alternate list, let's hope some of those 64 decide to go to other schools! Haha fingers crossed!
