MTSAC's lottery number (2010)

U.S.A. California

Published

I just received my lottery number and I am number 926! I applied November 2009.

I just wanted to put the information on here so we can see how far we are along the list. I know that some people will pick other programs, change majors, etc and hoping my number will go down. But 929 is very high and seems that I wont get in for years.

Here are the numbers that I got some someone else.

725

850

Anyone out there?

No, that isn't true. When I got back into Mt. Sac after being called into the nursing program, I had been out for 2 semesters since I was on the waiting list. They did, however, try to make me take Math 71 because it became a requirement AFTER I left. I appealed it and won. If you have all your classes done and don't have anything else to take, it's ok. It is not required to be an active student in order to get into the nursing program. If you still have any doubts, call the nursing office and ask them.

Good luck getting in quickly..!!

Hello There,

I am sorry but i saw your post and am also waiting on the waitlist. I applied in March 2009 and I was #499 and I received my second letter a while back and am now #330. So I dont know why your number is so high. You might want to call them and ask since you applied in 2008.

Best of Luck!

Hello There,

I was reading your post and just want to say not to worry. Yes, they cut the offers to 60 but know that about 15% to 20% of the 60 are accepted elsewhere, deffer, or withdraw. So the number still goes down. They do this twice a year for the Spring and Fall Semesters. So you should be getting at least two letters every year. Now I to received a "letter of intent" and a letter stating that I had to take the Hesi, which I also did take on Feb 9, 2010 and passed. So imagine all the applicants that did not turn in the letter of intent, the applicants that did not take the test and those that did take the test did not receive a 70% pass score. So your number will be going down. I applied in March 2009 and was in the 500's and I had just received my second letter and am 350. It went by so fast!!! Just hang in there. Hopefully, they will start accepting 96 students again. I'm am sure they will! Mt. Sac is a great school, the faculty is helpful and approachable and has an excellent reputation and NCLEX pass rates. Its worth the wait!!!

Best of luck to you! :)

I'm so encouraged to read this post. Thank you because I have been very discouraged! I'm hoping that it doesn't take three to five years to get in! And don't our sciences expire by five years too? Ugh. I'm looking forward to next month when they are supposed to send out the new letters for our place on the list. I'd like to see how many were dropped. I hope after the letters of intent and the HESI that it weeded a lot of people out. Oh, I'm counting the days until that next letter!

Hello,

Yes, I feel exactly how you feel. I am also counting down the days for my letter. I can't wait to see what number I am. I hope to start the program next Spring but we will see. Once I receive my letter I will post the waitlisted numbers on here to share with others that are also waiting. Just think they will take 60 students+ take away another 10-20. So it will be a total of 80 off the list because people defer, withdraw, or get accepted elsewhere. So for example if I am #330-80=250 -60 who didnt pass the HESI=190 - 50 those that did not show up to take the HESI=140 - 40 people that did not sign lettes of intent. Final Number= 100. So this is just an example not exact numbers. But you get the idea. So hang in there.

Best of Luck!!!! :) :smokin:

Hi soon to be RNs!

I just wanted to see if anyone had received any recent news from Mt. SAC. The last I heard was that letters were going out the first week of May. I know it's not May just yet, but I am eager to get the latest news.

I applied in October of 2008 and my lotto number was 1068 which gave me position 389 after the November 2009 drawing. My last letter from January 2010 states my current position is 73 and I am really hoping that I am accepted into the Fall 2010 class and not as an alternate because it fells like I have been waiting forever!

Anyone else apply during 2008 and still waiting or am I the only one left?

Good luck and hang in there everyone!!!

Hello There!

I am glad to hear that you are NUMBER 73. :clown: You are so going to get in. Trust me! I applied in Spring 09' one semester after you. So i hope to get in Spring 2010. Which will be here tomorrow. Hopefully we can stay in touch so that you can let me know what the first semester is like. ;) Maybe you should call the Nursing deparment and ask what book you need for Pharm class. I know that is the first class you take. In that way you have from now until then to go over the book and do some pratice questions. I know that the Fall class starts in August. I think.

so that is around the corner. Dont worry I am sure you will be in. I so excited for you! You have to post it and let us know. I know you waited a long time but Trust me it was so worth the wait. :)

Good Luck to you!

hey everyone! i wanted to share the fabulous news with you! i got my letter today and will be starting the rn program this fall!!! i am just thrilled and hope to hear some good news from you guys as well...

the letter i received said that i was number 33, not sure if that helps anyone judge their own position of when they will start since my last letter said i was number 73.

I just guy my second letter and it went from 900+ down to the mid 300's. I'm sure it's a much slower process from here on out. This comes after they weeded out all of the HSEE failures and all the people who didn't send in their letter of intent. We'll see how we do moving forward. I'm not sure if this new number includes or excludes the students who are starting this fall. Anyone know?

wow wow double wow!!! i recieved my letter today and damn near put me in :crying2: tears ( ok... i did shed a few h :yeah:a :yeah:p :yeah:p :yeah:y ---t :yeah:e :yeah:a :yeah:r :yeah:s ). its been a l:uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3:ng time getting to this point. working 2 full time jobs taking care of my 4 children and taking 1 class a semester since 2003. the time is finally here. i am now breathing huge :D sigh relief. time to do my happy dance......
