Mt. Sac nursing program spring 2018

Published

Good evening everyone.

My name is Nicole. I made this forum to connect with potential Mt Sac nursing students who may be applying for Spring 2018 admission. I'm am applying and wanted to see everyone's status, and maybe gain some insight on what is to come. I have not taken my HESI yet; I am taking it August 17th. I am also working on finishing up a summer class to know where my gpa stands for points on the multi criteria. I am between 76 and 83 points depending on my HESI score, gpa, and work experience. Not sure what the cutt off will be for the Spring 2018 semester, but I'm hoping I will have enough points. Hope everyone is having an awesome night. Hope to hear from future students.

I think a member of this thread has their appt today!! Hopefully we find out the cutoff for top 60, how long the alternate list is, etc

I have to admit I've been a lurker lol, i think i have 75 points but my appt is not till the 17th... So anxious to hear from others about the cut off for top 60

lol, lurker, that's funny! Welcome! I think 75 is a fairly strong number, best of luck!

I do have my appointment the 9th of October at 1:45. I am going to ask what the cut off is (and if that includes the alternates) and how many people applied.

MelRal @1:45

I think everyone is going to be stalking this page today lol

Hope it's going well for you and your friend! To answer your question, I'm a Mt. SAC student and I applied exactly as you did, online and with pdf files which I emailed to a friend to make sure that they would open after being sent and I also opened them once I had uploaded them into the application. Once my application was sent I emailed the dept. and asked them to review my application for any errors because I was worried about their request for "unofficial" transcripts and I didn't want to be disqualified because I misinterpreted what they meant... I got the feeling that my app. was sorta reviewed but I might be wrong on this since I was really stressed during our interaction.

Thank you very much. I did almost the same except I didn't check with nursing department because I thought PDF should be able to be open everywhere and it was what they required and I never thought any documents would really result in failure to open. I checked with them and the result was my documents couldn't be opened by their system. But my documents can be open on other computers in the college. So I am contacting them for this problem.

I know how hard it is just to finally get in a position to apply and I hope everything works out in your favor. It seems odd that there's no process in place to verify orconfirm that a received attatchment is at a minimum able to be opened on their end, without one it's conceivable that anyone could end up in your situation...

Hello MelRay-Can you please tell us (anxious ones) how your appt went today?

You are right. That's the problem. Anyone can end up like this.

How'd it go? :)

I'm in the nursing program!!! :) She told me right there and said I was #22! I got in with 81 points. The cut off is 74 points (for the top 60). A total of 95 people applied. Usually it's about 180 or so. She didn't give me how many people were on the waitlist. She did says that they may pull some more people since usually people drop and get accepted from a different nursing program so there's hope if anyone is concerned!!

Yay!! congrats! that's so weird though. Only 95 people applied? They usually send emails to 100 people. Could it be that everyone who applied got an email? hmmm.
