Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Fall 2024/Winter 2025

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I thought about waiting until I have all of my prerequisites completed to apply for the following year's cohort, but I've been trying to go to nursing school since 2019 and got totally derailed by COVID. I'm getting a little antsy, so I decided to apply this year. I have the minimum required for applying. I figure worst case scenario, I don't get in this year and have a break to save money and apply again next year. Best case scenario, I get in. Seems win/win to me! Who else has applied, or is planning on applying?

I just submit my application yesterday, now the wait begins! I wonder if they tell us how many points we've accrued. MHCC, COCC and Blue Mountain are on my list. 3.8 GPA 4.0 science GPA no healthcare experience but I have a prior ba degree, so who knows how I'll score. Encouraging tho, a look at admission stats for the last three years and applications are consistently falling.

I think I have 38 points? I have a 4.0 GPA in the credits that I do have, prior college degree, certified MA and a few thousand hours of experience. This is the only school I can apply to this year, but if I don't get in, I'll reapply next year, and to PCC and OHSU's ABSN program.

Anyone hear back yet?

I haven't but I'm assuming we will by next week or the first week of April

I haven't heard anything either, I keep checking the Mt. Hood website and nothing is different.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to hear back, but it won't be too much longer!

Specializes in Respiratory Therapist.

Still waiting also. I have received my acceptance to PCC phase 2.  So anxious. Good luck everyone.

I'm pretty laid back but I've been checking my emails several times a day and getting frustrated when I have one that's not from the nursing program 🧟‍♂️

I have a feeling that we won't hear until after Spring break 😩

Anyone get an email? I'm so paranoid I'll miss it
