MSW to Psych NP

I am currently working on my prereqs for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner programs. I am curious as to how competitive these programs are and whether or not I will be a competitive applicant. I am currently a social worker working as a psychotherapist with mentally ill patients and am interested in getting more training and expanding my scope of practice. My undergrad GPA is 3.4 and my grad GPA is 3.9. Any thoughts? My first choice would be Columbia because I already live in the city. Thanks!!

I don't know anything about Columbia specifically, but you sound like a great candidate for any NP program :) Finish those pre-req's !

(You could also try to make contact with somebody at Columbia right now, if your heart is set on it. Take a tour, ask questions, schmooze a bit.)
