Hi!
I was wondering who else was going to be applying for the MSU Denver Spring 2020 ANO, and what their point distribution looked like.
I will get full points for the GPA, and 3 out of 4 on the HESI, and the point for taking classes at the university. I am worried that my HESI score is not going to be competitive enough though.
Hope to hear back! And good luck to everyone else.

I am transferring credits from another school, which I know MSU won't use. I had to do a 5 prerequisites at MSU. My GPA is at 3.6 and I had Hesi score of 96.67%. What are my chances?
In previous years, MSU used a 15 point ranking system that included points for healthcare experience, certificates/licenses, and more points depending on the number of credits taken at MSU. I believe that this is the first year that they are using just GPA, HESI, and 1 point for having 12 credits at MSU. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows who will or won't get in because they haven't really done this before and who knows what the applicant pool will look like. If you have over 12 credits at MSU and that is your prerequisite GPA, then you should have 9 points I think. The good thing is that you have a high HESI score and that is the tiebreaker, so I would think that you would rank pretty high in the 9s. Honestly though, I have no idea what anyone's chances are.

Thanks for the response. Hope everything goes well for all of us here.
I only have 8 points, so I’m really not very confident that I’ll make it into this cohort, unfortunately. I only got a 92% on the HESI and thought they took the average of scores if you took it more than once and didn’t want to risk dropping it; wish I had known they take the higher score and would have made a second attempt to hopefully get to 9 points!
Ok same here! I thought that they were going to average the HESI score retakes, I was so sure that - that was totally going to happen seeing as they averaged retakes. Yeah I am totally bummed. I think the part that kind of frustrates me about the point system too is that they average the retakes. Basically, if I were to apply for the next cohort, I would have more points, because one of my retakes would be taken off. IDK...
Did you happen to apply for anywhere else?
FINGERS CROSSED!
I totally agree, I figure worst case is I apply to the next cohort with more points and hope I get accepted then. I am going to send an application to the Denver College of Nursing program for the July start; my sister in law got into their program and likes it a lot so far! Plus, I feel like its one of the only other schools that my prerequisites align with. Are you applying elsewhere? I hope we hear sooner rather than later in order to make plans!
I am not currently applying to any other programs, which idk may be shooting myself in the foot. But I didn't have prerequisites lined up because I didn't want to have to take more courses, and then at the same time like I also had to leave my current job in healthcare so now I am having that problem with applying soon because I don't have like a patient care role right now.
I have heard like various people have different thoughts on the program, I would love to hear more if you could tell me some of her overall thoughts on pros/cons. Anyways, good to keep up with someone who is in the same boat. Everyone else seems like a 9 or higher which is frankly quite like stressful. I guess I am not really ready to accept that it won't happen this year. ?

Hi Guys,
I am worried too. I found out I am waitlisted for Anschutz ANO program but I really would love to get into Metro. Depending on how the GPA is Calculated (I took anatomy and physiology separately so I have no idea) I either have 8 or 9 points with their system. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting in?
