Hi everyone! Is anyone thinking of applying for the Jan 2017 start at Metro for the accelerated program? I can't seem to find any recent posts about this.
Congrats to those that got in! I was also placed in the alternates pool...pretty disappointed. I think my score was 12 (didn't go to MSU so lost two points there and lost one point on GPA) and my HESI was 95. Does anyone know how big the alternates pool is or anything else about it? Gaaah, more waiting :-/
As an alternate for the program I'd love to get a little more information from those that got in so I can have an idea of what needs to be done by when if I'm offered a spot: What info did they give you about Orientation Day on Dec 17th? And by what date do you need to complete all immunizations, drug test, etc? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer!
Immegger,
I have only received one email so far that did not provide much info, but I think we will get the another one from ------------------- soon with more insight. Below is the email that I have received so far. I will let you know when I hear more!
"Congratulations! On behalf of the Department of Nursing Admissions Committee, I am pleased to notify you that you have been provisionally accepted to the Accelerated Nursing Option (ANO) at Metropolitan State University of Denver for the January 2017 start. This offer of admission is contingent upon final grades for any in progress courses and successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen test. Information about the criminal background check and drug screen test will be sent after you confirm that you will accept this provisional offer of admission.
A required orientation to the nursing program will be held Tuesday December 20, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nursing classes will begin on January 17, 2017. A more detailed schedule will be sent to you once you confirm that you accept a provisional position in the class.
Below is additional important information for you to be aware of:
· If you have not completed the required multicultural course or the MSU Denver Office of Admissions has not accepted your multicultural course, you will need to do so to avoid postponement of your graduation.
· Attendance at all scheduled laboratory and clinical classes is mandatory. Students must be flexible to accommodate any last minute class, clinical and lab changes.
· The current tuition for nursing courses is $452.90 per credit hour. A program fee of $14.37 per credit hour will be charged for each nursing course.
If you accept this admission invitation to the ANO January start, you will not be eligible for admission to the Traditional Nursing Option (TNO).
Please let us know in writing that you are able to accept a position in the January 2017 class as soon as possible but no later than noon on Friday, November 4, 2016 by email to -------------------- at --------------------------. You will receive a response email verifying receipt of your acceptance. If we do not hear from you by this date and time, your position will be offered to another applicant."
