MSN programs

I am graduating with my Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in May 2018. I am interested in apply to Direct- Entry MSN programs at University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, University of Alabama- Birmingham, University of Minnesota and UVA. I will have finished all of my prerequisites by the application due dates, however I will not have my Bachelor's at the time the applications for the Fall 2018 cohort are due (as I am getting my Bachelor's in May 2018 and the apps are due between Oct 2018- Jan 2019). Will this hurt my chances of admission? Should I wait and reapply?

Thanks for any insights!

Welcome to allnurses :balloons:

I assume you mean that the applications are due between October 2017 and January 2018.

This was many years ago, I don't know if the direct entry programs have a different policy (but I don't see why they would), but I applied to grad school and got accepted during the last semester of my BSN completion program, before I completed the program. I did have to eventually resubmit my transcript once I finished and received my degree, and I'm sure there would have been some fallout (like the acceptance being rescinded) if I had really crashed and burned during the final semester of school. But no one at the schools to which I applied thought there was anything unusual or odd about my applying for the following Fall in advance of actually completing my degree. They evaluated me as a candidate on the basis of my grades and academic performance up until that point.

Best wishes for your journey!
