Haha. You would be surprised at how many 'young professors' are employed here among the top nursing schools in the philippines. Some have 'paper experience', experience either purchased at hospitals or some bogus on the job training at some hospital. And worst of all, i've had a good deal of professors who only have 3-9 units of MAN and 1 year clinical experience and are considered at par with the older professors? I am really perplexed with the system of nursing education in my country. Come to think of it, as stated on the Nursing Act of the philippines, to be employed as a clinical instructor you have to have a Master of arts in nursing degree, and i think they mean you have to graduate, not only be currently enrolled. I laugh when i see my friend employed as my professor and get this, he just graduated 1 year ahead of me. And he gets like 4x the pay of a regular staff nurse here. And also he's only halfway though his masters and with little experience. How did he do it? Go figure. GODBLES PHILIPPINES!

this is not best practise for quality nursing education......
