Hi! I started the MSN education program at WGU this past November. I finished the orientation and 2 classes so far. I'm finding it pretty straightforward so far but nervous about the field experience aspect at the end of the program. Mainly the part of finding my own preceptor....How's it going for you?
I started March 1, 2019... had originally planned to complete in one year, but realized quickly with my full time work and family life, this was unrealistic. So I'm going at traditional pace, and it still takes a lot of time! I do see people posting that they fly through the requirements... but I kind of feel like if I am getting a degree in education, better to actually learn than just check off the boxes, know what I mean?
Are there any OAs in the MSN-Education track? I am hearing that due to COVID19 the video proctor farms offshore are shut down and people who had OAs at the end of March were not able to get their OAs done.
I'm wondering if I should begin May 1st as I am planning to, or put it off a couple of months till the pandemic peaks and proctor services resume at whatever the new normal will be.
I'm starting WGU MSN - Education this coming June 2020. I'm only working PRN at work and have no family. My goal is finish in 2 terms= 1 year. I know it can be done in 1 term but I want to make sure I'm prepared to educate others. I would like to know if anyone had success getting an online teaching job after graduation?
Hi, I am not sure but others have stated they have done the program in one term. To do this would require completion of a class each week which is a large commitment of about 20 hours per week (in my humble opinion). But if you don't have a full time job or have a lot of time after work you can do it. I personally have 3 jobs so I am doing this little by little. Good luck!
Can anyone provide insight as to how clinical hours are managed I.e. how many are required per week, max per day, per semester, total in the program? I'm currently in a MSN NP program (long story) but I'm having to drop out this term because of the effects COVID has had on my job and family. I need to switch to a program completely online and isn't so clinical heavy because I have to keep my M-F 10 hour/day job. My job was previously allowing me time off from work for school but not anymore.

Hello all,
I am soon to be starting the journey of my MSN - Education at WGU. My anticipated start date is Feb. 1, 2020. My goal is to complete the program in 1 year. I am wondering if anyone else will be starting around this time! I'm both eager and nervous to get started.
Also, has anyone recently graduated (within the last year) and have any comments, concerns, advice, etc.? I have looked into a vast amount of programs, and although a lot of programs have a lot of pros/cons, I have decided to go with WGU for their cost and flexibility. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated!
