Hi I have two more classes Microbiology and Sociology left to take and I have to take the MPT before getting onto the wait list in December. I have been practicing my math for the past month because I would like to take the test this month. I would like to know if any of you future nurses out there have taken the MPT and Oakland? Is it exactly like the MPT practice test? Are the questions set up the same way? Is it not multiple choice? Is there a question like the one on the practice test that says "percent" means? Thank you guys so much for your help!!
Congrats, IfYouSeeAmy, on your application! I, too, recently applied to the program.
Are you seeking the traditional or accelerated program, should it be offered again? Also, would you mind sharing your stats? Again, congratulations and good luck!

P.S. Are you applying anywhere else?
Hi wendy! I'll just be glad to get in, but if they offer the accelerated program, I would take it, because I want so badly to start my career. I'm not even sure they'd ask me though. Don't you need a 4.0?
Right now I have all A's and one A-. I have two pre-reqs left right now (Micro/Ethics) so far, A's in both, and it looks like smooth sailing, so I will have a 3.972 overall.
You?
I hope we both make it!:yeah:Good luck to you as well!
ETA: not applying elsewhere. All my eggs in one basket *iz scared*
Hi again, IfYouSeeAmy!
I am also hoping for the accelerated program and believe that it'll be nearly all 4.0's this year, as entry into this program grows increasingly competitive. I wouldn't even be surprised if OCC had to resort to tiebreakers this time around.
I'm grateful that I'm applying with a 4.0 in all prereqs; however, I don't feel that my entry is assured because I am a 100% transfer student. If tiebreakers are implemented, earliest completion date is given first priority. Should another tiebreaker be needed, preference is given by the number of courses completed at OCC.
Good luck to all of us applying to this great program!
Sincerely,
Wendy
P.S. Although OCC is my first choice, hands down, I also plan on applying to OU's ABSN program and, possibly, UDM's.

Thats great news Amy. I know it is nerve wracking isnt it? I dont see any reason why it should be, except that you go in knowing you only get 3 chances.
