Moving to Vegas-HELP!

Published

Hello~

I just found out my family and I will be moving to Las Vegas at the end of July. I'm trying to get info on the hospitals there - which ones are the nice ones, which pay more, etc. I currently live in Texas working as an RN in IMC with 1 year experience. Any info would be greatly appreciated. My husband is military so I don't need the healthcare benefits and I also thought about doing agency/contract work. Anyone have experience in that area? What can you tell me about the area around the AF base?

I've never been to Las Vegas so any information would be great. Thanks in advance!

I am just talking ER - I would hate to work at a hospital that transfers out a lot of patients because they don't have specialties - but that is my opinion.

Also didn't like their attitude toward new grads when I first applied there a few years ago.

So glad I picked Sunrise - I think our patient care is the best around - at least in the ER - it's the only place I would go if I were truly ill.

u know whats funny...i kinda know wut ur talking about...

especially...... ER...

not gonna say much (coz if i have nothing good to say, its best not to say anything at all)...but i know EXACTLY wut ur talking about:no:

i have seen it first hand because i worked at ER "holds"...

but everywhere else (med surg, maternity,etc..)......was good:chuckle

I would rather people be able to give honest opinions about their own personal experiences at various hospitals without worry that others will attack them. This information can be helpful to others.

It is not facts, just stated opinions- if they are different from what you feel that is ok just write about your own experience without malice.

dreamon makes a great point! Since everyone is going to view their experience differently, hearing an honest account about various places will help since our own past experience and perception will vary greatly anyway.
