Moving to usa

Published

My name is sharon and I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. Hopefully a moderator can move this post if not!!! Hello I am wondering if I am able to get some advice please. I am looking at emigrating out to usa (Texas) next year. My husband is American and my son is, however my 17yr old and myself are not. I was just wondering I would like to continue with a career in nursing as I have only been qualified a year I was a late bloomer (44 today) I was an hca for 6 years and was seconded to do my nursing degree which I am proud to say I got with a 2:1. Anyway I work in A&E and was just wondering would it be best to go back to school in usa and top up or stay an extra year here?? How does it all work?? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Also my MIL is sponsoring me and my daughter with her salary so sponsorship isn't needed would be nice but not critical for our move. Just want some ideas as to when to apply for visa etc

thank you again. Sharon xxx

I personally would get CES from CGFNS because if you plan on further education once in the US most universities requires CGFNS so already done makes things easier.

Up to you when you start the process but for immigrant visa probably looking at 8-12 months anyway so they can run along side each other

Yes I just had a look and it seems rather straight forward on the CGFNS thank you and I didn't know it would take that long for visas if I am honest well for spouse one. However that seems a nice time to get everything sorted at both ends. Cheers for help you really are a fountain of knowledge ;) xxx

For spousal visa you are looking at 8-12 months for employer based you are looking at over 2 years or more as it depends on where you was born.

Good luck

Thank you hope I can badger for more advice as the time goes on I will get the ball Rolling on both sides now. We are hoping to get it all done ourselves however some say employ a lawyer :( all confused now lol xxx

Thank you for the advice. I have already emailed the texas state board and will telephone them tomorrow afternoon with my transcripts. Would it make any difference if I wait another year so 2 yrs qualified or not?? Will I still have to go through this extra top up?? Thank you again xx

Experience will make no difference if you don't have the theory and clinical hour in all areas. You will also find it difficult to find a school that will allow you to enroll in just the deficient areas.
