Their Nursing Program sucks, you'll regret it.

There's a better school in Puerto Rico than UMET, don't go there.

Better play it safe and stay enlisted in the Air Force

I've read many different things on different threads on this site and it was very informative, by the way. Let me start by saying that I am an African American female in the Air Force (Active duty) and I'm researching the idea to apply to go into the Air Guard or the Reserves (Called Palace Chase). This entails finding a new "home base" and applying for the Guard or Reserve there. Since they don't have my job choices around my area I'm deciding to look into moving to a new location entirely. I'm currently about to begin my upper-level courses in Behavioral Sciences at Wilmington University in Delaware and planned on pursing my BSN with the nursing school in southern Delaware. Attending UMET would mean that I would/could skip the first BS in Behavioral Sciences all together and go right into Nursing. Nursing isn't ultimately where i want to end up in life but I love science and I love helping people and being useful, so Nursing seems to fit me naturally. I'm prepared to put in the work, especially in a "dream" location like PR. My Spanish is very decent, however I know i would do better in their English Nursing program. I'm really excited to get help from you guys on how to access the school. Hearing your stories and suggestions would be very helpful and motivating. I'm usually a very self-motivated person but after spending so many years doing everything on my own, it'd be nice to lean on some decent advice for a change! Help a sista out!! Post, message, email, send links, contacts, phone numbers, and I'll be doing my own research of course on my end as well. I'm always looking for an opportunity to travel, but it would be especially neat to live and learn in Puerto Rico, as Spanish has become my second language and I really don't have many people to speak it with to perfect it. I hate leaving things undone! So I've blabbed enough, hopefully I've painted you a pretty little picture of what I'm looking for. Ask and comment away... go! :) Bless ya.

Has anyone recently finished the BSN program at La Inter?! I am interested in beginning the program either in August or in November.

Hello! I'm planning on starting school at La Inter in August. I'm getting a bit worried about the financial crisis (closing down hospitals so less clinical rotation, and closing down schools) has anyone in school, either UMET or La Inter felt any affects? Or has similar concerns? Thanks! Lacy

Hi! lstSmile, ASN, BSN, RN,

I will be starting the program at Inter in November. I would like to speak with you about the ins and outs/ finding housing/ and the program in general. please email me // [email protected]

how was the program at Inter? Im starting in November and coming from NY. I need help!!!

Specializes in ER.

I graduated the summer of 2014 so I'm sure much has changed since then. I found a place by driving/walking around the areas I thought I wanted to live and calling the for rent signs. Usually people stayed either by the school or like I did in ocean park. Other in Condado or they lived a bit away in nearby areas and also drove to school. I would go to the Facebook ( check my about me page for links) and you can ask current students or those who recently graduated. You can also contact the international relations dept at the uni and they were helpful with a lot of that. I can only speak to what my program was like as I'm not sure of all the changes that have occurred since then. All the best!

Hi there! I am an LVN in California and looking to get my Associates Degree first in Puerto Rico then looking into possibly doing my BSN online (I have at least 70 credits to transfer). I am looking at the ASDN program in Inter-American University. Will I have some problems getting my license in California after graduating? Also, any other suggested schools that are in English. I speak very little spanish.

very, very good advice

Anyone complete the accelerate BSN at Inter? I currently have a BS and want to pursue a career in Nursing. Just wanting to get info from anyone that has attended Inter.

Thanks so much!

Considering options for BSN in Puerto Rico. Is it possible if I do not speak any Spanish?
