Does anyone know how to find out DATE OF EXAM as it applies to Illinois? I took it in 1993 and I really have no idea! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!:)

If you need that date of taking the nclex, then call/reach out to your original state board of nursing. They have that information.

if you have already written state boards u should be fine. in s.c. all u need is a current license (Illinois) unencumbered. but u will have to get a s.c. license. it will be about $60 for that. u need the criminal backround check done, fill out s.c. paperwork & wait for the ok from s.c that you have a license with them. ( I did this). s.c. requires 30 c.e.u.s to renew license & its renewable every 2 yrs I think in april. u will need current work exp. to get work. without that u will have to take a refresher course which is available at Greenville technical institute. Illinois has no lpn refresher courses that are college based. 2 online courses are avail.-one thru NAPNES, and the other thru south Dakota univ. which is accepted in sc. but with these 2 u must get a contract with someone for the clinicals. u cant sign up for either of those programs without that agreement. but both of those are much cheaper than Greenville tech. program. the pay in s.c is much lower than

here in Illinois. my suggestion to you is,,,,never go inactive on yr license. its like ur throwing that license away. u would have to go back to school all over again if u decide u want to work as a nurse again. work......even if its only 1 wkend day a month. its still work exp.

without work exp. u wont get anyone to hire you. just some sage advice from someone who didn't work after school & now i'm finding it very hard to get back in. the online course is there. .....no one in Illinois will contract with me for clinicals. so I wont be working as a nurse. wish I knew this a long time ago. I would have worked. now I need to be working & cant get the work bc of the stupid decisions I made to not work.

one more comment:--according to ill. board of nursing (ill. dept of professional regulation) as long as u pay the fee & do the c.e.u's for lic. renewal, that's all u need for work. they don't require u do anything else. that's what they told me when I talked to them, being told by prospective employers I needed a refresher course before I was employable after being out of nursing for a while.

take my advice & just stay working. don't stop. once u do, anything after 5 yrs of working u will be so out of date with whats going on in nursing, and will be required by employers to take a lpn refresher course to get the current theory and the clinicals.
