I just wanted to create a post to see what all the newly accepted nursing students are doing to get prepared for nursing school? How will you spend your last four months before school, what sites have you looked at to get prepared? I will be going on a much needed cruise to the bahamas, then after the cruise we will stay on SOBE for the weekend, spend a bunch of qt with my kids and husband. My last four months will be spent with family, and friends. I looked at a site RNpedia.com that I am sure I will find helpful while in school, really cool site I think every nurse student should check it out, and allnurses.com will also be my best friend. Love to hear everyone's response and see if I can find more helpful sites from everyone:heartbeat:heartbeat
Congrats to everyone. I just finished my first semester of my Accelerated BSN program. I'm on a 2 week break before starting the Summer session. Some people would encourage you to relax as you may not have time when NS begins to socialize. I would advise against that idea because NS is NO walk in the park. I would refresh A&P. Don't over do it, but if you have your program's book list, start ordering them and read through some of the chapters when they arrive.
I start my second semester the first week in May and I already ordered my Med-Surg books and have reading assignments to do during the break (which will go by quickly).
Best of luck to everyone!
I'm going to freshen up my A&P since it's been since fall 09 and spring 10 since I've taken them a few weeks before I start. I might also look at the math nursing modules that the school has loaded into my class computer program (we use ANGEL).
Other than that, I'll just be hanging with the family, snuggling with the kiddos and enjoying my new baby (she's 9 weeks now). I'm also taking my IBCLC boards in July, so that will be the only studying I'm going to do until the end of July.
Beyond that, I have orientation at the beginning of May and we'll find out what all we need to do. I know we have to get our background checks done, have a physical and turn in important docs (like I have to turn in a copy of my CPR card - others will need to take CPR if they don't have it).
I know that we have to wear white shoes, so I bought a pair on clearance recently - they're reeboks and they're rated for working, completely white and seem comfortable enough. They were only $29 on clearance.

Amen! Although, I just got my letter yesterday and it feels like there is SOOOO much to do. I'm trying to remind myself to breathe, finish out this semester strong - because honestly, now that I'm in, it's really tempting to be a huge slacker for the next four weeks - and accept that I have plenty of time to get everything done and still have some serious relax time with my family.
