moving need help (charleston)

Published

Hi, i am an LPN with 10 years experience, currently working in a PCU in st. petersburg Fl. My husband is an EMT who wants to get his lpn or rn. We are looking to move to the Charleston area in the summer of 09. Can anyone tell me where LPN's can work in the hospital? I currently make about $21.00 an hour but it doesn't seem like i'll be making that there!

also, any other good tips will be greatly appreciated.

It's a beautiful area and we are very much looking forward to it!!

Thanks!

Hi, yes Charleston is a great place.

I'm a LPN and I'm employed at the Ralph Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Right now I know they are looking for LPN on Med/Surg floor. I also believe they have LPNs at Bon Securs/St. Francis Hospital and Trident hospital located in Summerville, SC. But yes, you are def. right, we do not make $21.00, not at hospitals (unless of course you have years of exp.)

Now at nursing homes, we can range from 18.00-21.00 at some places, (and with your exp. I'm sure you can get more) and that's w/o differentals. Even new grad (LPN) can start at 20.00-21.00/hr at nursing home, so maybe you should look into nursing homes.

I hope that helps!

Have a great day!

Can anyone tell me about how much a new grad LPN's starting salary would be in the hospitals in the Charleston area? If they hire LPNs or new grad LPN's for that matter? Also what would be a good choice to pick in a hospital to work in as a new grad to get a really good experience?
