Hi all!
I will be moving to Waltham Mass in a little under a month. Can anyone tell me anything about the city, anything you can tell me would be much appreciated as we will be like fish out of water, coming from an area that was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Also, I have been in home health for 10 yrs and would like to know the names of some good agencies to work for. Thanks so much for your responses in advance. God Bless!!

Waltham is nice. It is about 45-30 minutes north of boston. It is not far from Leahey Clinic, and alot of the North Shore Hospitals. I am not sure of any good agencies in the north shore.
Just wanted to welcome you to Mass.
Thanks so much, let me ask you about the weather? How far into the year does it snow there?

Hi there. I live in Newton, which borders Waltham. Depending on where you will livei n Waltham, you could be potentially only 10 minutes from Boston-it's shaped weird like that. Moody Street is great-very ethnic-lots of good food. There is a large Guademalan and Hispanic pop. there, so if you know Spanish I'm sure it would greatly help your career. I don't know of any home health agencies off hand because I work in hospital and for agency. Good luck to you. The weather is usually very cold and snowy this time of year but it has been unseasonably warm with like no snow this year-very bizarre.
Thanks! This helps a lot

Partners VNA, VNA Care Network, and Caregroup HomeCare are the largest agencies in the area. Since you don't know the area would invest in a GPS. Waltham is a great location.

Thanks Kelli & Alex,
I have heard a lot of good things about the Waltham area and I am very excited! I will look at the websites to the agencies you suggested because I like doing both adults and kids. A GPS is definately on my shopping list
