I will finish school soon, and plan to move to Surprise Arizona to find work as RN.
Can anyone give advice for the good hospital to new graduate of BSN?
And in the current poor economy, many are looking for reasons to shut out noncitizens to jobs.
Yes, but thankfully the hospital managers that make the hiring decisions are not.
I'll be able to work legally upon my arrival, and already have a network of other Filipinas in the area who can help me find part time volunteer hospice work right away. And I'll be able to work more hours when I'm adjusted and ready.
I'm just asking which hospitals in the area have the best program for new BSN grads.
But considering the attitude towards immigrants around here, maybe I should just wait and find out for myself later-
um... you're kidding right? We tried to be helpful and let you know of the job situation here, and you rebutted saying that you would be hired because unlike Americans, you work hard and don't complain. I have no attitude towards immigrants, my parents are immigrants and I volunteer for two immigrant services to help them adjust and receive medical care. I have a problem with being insulted about my work ethics.

Amazing how adding a couple of words can entirely change the context of a statement, isn't it?
In the current economy, there are not nearly as many jobs as there once were.
It will be more likely that you will not be able to pick and choose between which program is best between many jobs. It will more likely be a case of which will have you. If you get offered more than one job, it would be best to come back here for more info.
There are thousands of new grad nurses in the US unemployed, many with all those traits, and that will take anything offered. Getting multiple job offers is not that common anymore.
As far as putting "words" in your mouth, you have put many unfair assumptions in your posts, about nationality, sex, feminism. This leaves you a poor one to complain about others doing the same to you. I expect that you have been given to believe many wrong things about your future coworkers and citizens. I suggest that you do not believe all that you hear from such sources, and wait to judge for yourself, with an open mind rather than a closed one.
I apologize if I misunderstood you. So let me ask you to clarify, when you say you are more likely to be hired because you are Filipina which means you are happy to work and never complain, how does that make you different from the thousands of unemployed American new grads? It seems you are implying that Americans do complain and are unhappy to work. If that's not the case, please explain what you mean by that because I don't understand.
I don't see how you can be confused by that post.
I got to know the Filipina lady that owned the group home that my mother in law stayed in for 2 years before she died.
I was told that the local hospitals there like to hire Filipinas.
Are you saying that is not true?
I also posted that MAYBE because I will work very hard and won't complain?
I really don't know the answer, or even if it's true.
But I DO know, that I will make the most of any opportunity I get, to help lift my family out of poverty-
Now if you can twist that into bashing Americans, I'll bow out of this thread in amazement-

Didn't say that at all, and don't see where you got that from any post of mine.
Which is why I asked you to please use the quote function:)

Being equal to men is the last thing I want.
I'm very happy, and proud to be female, thank you very much:D
And, on a side note, my post was NOT inquiring about advice on "fitting in" with American nurses. It was asking which hospital in the area has the best new graduate program for nursing.
I'm proud of my culture, and have no intention of trying to become an American feminist.
I'll get along with my co-workers just fine, once I'm given a chance.
Just don't "put words" into my mouth please:)
