Yeah like Archerlpvn said, as long as you keep paying your fees your license will be "inactive" but not lapsed. I think there's a 4 year limit where they will charge you late fees if you don't renew. After that, you'll have to take the NCLEX-PN again.
You can make your license active again as soon as you take your 30hrs of CE required for California. Best wishes to you!
No, although keep in mind you will need to take a jurisprudence test to get reciprocity in Texas. I have moved a few times and had no issues without having a permanent address in that state.
As for the jurisprudence test it may be easier to sign up for that once you do become a resident. Keep in mind TX is a compact state. It may be easier to apply to another compact state that does not have a jurisprudence test and then having a permanent nursing license to use instead.
Also the TX BON isn't the best. I have not been able to get a hold of any person so communication with them will be a tedious process.
Good luck!

I will be moving to another state hopefully by next year. I currently reside in the state of CA. Once I move to another state and complete the endorsement process to transfer my license over, does that make my current CA LVN license inactive? or would I still be able to keep it active as long as I keep renewing it every 2 years?
